We're back!!
Wow what a holiday, I have to say it was the best yet!!
I thoroughly recommend staying in a villa. We've got back and I can just put the washing back in the drawers as I washed as I went along and those american washers and dryers are massive!!
Come to mention so are the villas!!
We paid for a 3 bedroomed villa through Virgin but they let them through Florida Vacations 2000 which are right next door to the Virgin Centre off Highway 27.
We ended up having a 4 bedroomed villa - imagine our surprise when we walked in and looked round. It was so spacious and had 3 bathrooms/en-suites!
For those of you who have booked a villa through Virgin or are thinking of doing so I know you are going to love it too.
Our Villa was based in Clear Creek which is just the other side of the 27 from the Virgin Service Centre. It's approx. 8 miles from Disney World and is so easy to find and we thought quite well located and easier for us to get to Busch gardens.
It's so easy to get around out there as everything is signposted really well.
The other thing is that you have to give a $250 deposit (credit card accepted) in case of breakages. You deal directly with Florida Vacations 2000 and they come to you!!
We landed on Friday and the rep from Virgin said for us to go next door on the Monday morning as Florida Vacations 2000 don't work at the weekends - they came to us on the Sunday morning (8am) which saved us a trip!
I could go on and on so to save you time reading loads if there are any specific questions just aim them at me!!

Hi Disbabe

Sounds like you had a fabulous time!

We're off on the 31st July & also have a 3 bed villa booked with Virgin so fingers crossed.

One question - Did you get directions to the agency office before you left the UK or were given them when you got there?
Its just that we went with Thompson a few years back & only got the directions when we arrived at the airport & as it was our first time in the US it was almost divorce time by the time we found the office

(The kids are still talking about 'Dad's rather unDisneylike language' as we tried to find the office after a 9 hour flight)

Regards
Peter

In fact I think I have just answered my question by reading one of your earlier threads.
Now, how do I get one of those 4 bedroom villas?

Peter
:teeth:

I don't know how we came to get the 4 bedrooms - I can't think for one minute that all the 3 bedroomed villas had gone, but just to add we never questioned and Florida vacations 2000 never said anything so we kept quiet!!
Clear Creek was a really nice place to stay and there were a few villas for sale around that area and we were very tempted to look into moving out there. I can't explain how nice the villa was and I know that each one is designed individually by their owners but all the furniture throughout the house was made of marble - it was beautiful - just writing about it is making me wish I was still there!!

Just to answer your question on finding the Virgin service centre. When you get your tickets included are written instructions on how to get there but also they provide a map with all the service centres included. If you follow the instructions on the map you will see which one it is.
They have recently set this place up specifically for those staying in villas and this is where you'll have the welcome meeting, if you wish to go. This was our 3rd time and we still went to it as it was 8.00am the following morning after you arrive and only lasted 30 minutes so we went straight to the parks after as WDW was only a 20 minute drive away.

That's good to hear about the map & directions beforehand as it wasn't the best start to the holiday last time.

We have skipped the welcome meetings before but do you think its worth going? We've already got park tickets etc

Peter

To be truthful we only went as we had some questions about the villa but they couldn't help as you have to deal direct with florida vacations 2000 once you get the key. You only go to the virgin centre to get directions to the house and the code numbers to unlock the key which is actually in a keybox next to the front door!!
We could have missed the meeting but felt that because it was early enough it didn't interfere with our planned itinerary. We too had also bought our tickets prior to going.

Hi Sheila :) ! Welcome back! I'm so please you had such a great time and enjoyed your villa so much! Thank you for giving us more details on the Virgin villas as it answers questions that often arise!

Will you be telling us any more about your trip? Would love to hear your park highlights etc :) !

One other thing I wanted to ask about the villa - it says in the brochure that there is a 'Welcome pack' at the villa when you arrive. Did you get one & can you remember the type of stuff that was in there?

Is there enough for breakfast etc?

Thanks
Peter

Welcome pack included:-
1 wash powder pack (enough for 1 wash)
1 tablet for dishwasher
1 roll kitchen towels
toilet paper in all bathrooms/en suites
a dozen eggs
10 pack microwavable sausages
1 loaf bread (full loaf)
4 pints milk
4 pints orange juice
big pack butter cookies (I mean big!!)
1 bag breakfast cereal (rice krispies)
1 pack butter
4 teabags
2 packs coffee inc. coffee filters
sugar/sweetner

hope this helps. Yes, I'll be getting round to a trip report as soon as I've got a few minutes spare as I'm back at work working full time when I'm normally only part time!!
Pay back for having a holiday!!

Thats more than we expected

Thanks for taking the time to write it out

Regards
Peter
