Virgin holiday package - Car Hyer AND Magical Express!?

Hello! We have booked through virgin for 2012 (14 day park ticket for the price of 7, $300 gift voucher and free dining) when making the booking online I was given the choice or a rental car OR the magical express.
We need a car as we are staying at Disney but visiting other parks or Florida too.
Our last holiday the drive from the airport was AWFULL! Road works, strange road signes, other side of the road driving, getting lost - bad start to the holiday. I have noticed the rental car can be collected from Disneys swan (or dolphin) hotel. The virgin website gives the choice of a car OR magical express. But the official Disney website says the magical express is free to ALL guests staying at a Disney resort. I was thinking of seeing if I can get arrange a place on the magical express via Disney and then get a taxi from the yact hotel to the swan (rite next door) to collect my car booked via virgin. This will take out the stress of driving from the airport.

Does anyone know if I CAN do magical express AND rental car!?
Has anyone done this before?

Yes you can - just arrange your hire car with Virgin to start next day and collect from the Swan.

Book Magical express with Disney directly.

You will not need a taxi to get Swan from the Yacht Club it is a 5 min walk - go out of the back of the Yacht club towards the boat dock take a right and follow the path round and you will see the Swan and Dolphin - Swan is on the left as you look at it.

If you do rent from airport do online check in with Alamo. Then you go straight to garage to pick up car.

I know it is easy to get lost but virgin do give you clear instructions to get to your hotel to follow.

As Elise said I would book book direct with disney for the magical express and arrange pick up from the swan either that night or the next day. Dont forget your insurances are on top of the car hire so its no free in total.
If I had a car I would do exactly this then drop it off the morning we left and get magical express back to the airport.

If vigin hire with alamo then you can collect from car care centre near mk.

We hired for a few days and it was so easy. We called alamo in the morning they collected us from the hotel in a shuttle bus and took us to the car care centre. In reverse they dropped us at DTD as requested.

No collect from Swan - we do this every year, walk from YC takes 1o mins - desk is upstairs then valet will bring your car to front of hotel.

Great! Thanks for all ur help guys! I have allready payed the extra for full insurance. Does anyone if the choice of car will be any good from the Swan? Not that I'm too fussed, anything to avoid that drive - bad memories! Haha

You don't actually get to choose your own car at the Swan as Alamo will have already sent it over to be collected that day and the valet drives it round the front to you - but we have never had a bad car from there!

I have noticed when pricing cars that it costs a lot more to pick up from one of the rental companies on Disney grounds rather than at the airport.

Never priced it up as assumed cost was the same - however the OP said the car was free whatever!

The car came as part of our holiday package. It was 'free' we just had to pay for the insurence
