Just received our tickets today, this is the first time we have booked via Virgin holidays and amongst the tickets were some vouchers for downtown check in. I know there was some fee last year, I think $5 per person. So I assume that this means its free for us this year.

I don't want to call Virgin because its cost about £24 in 0870 charges recently to sort a mix up with my daughters seat.

If you have the vouchers then it's free yes, you are right that it usually is $5 per head.
To be honest we are frequent fliers and I thought that's why we received the vouchers - but if you have them then you will not have to pay, and the DTD check-in is a real plus and means you get rid of your suitcases much earlier on the last day.

As far as I understand it, it's free for VH customers but if you book direct with VA you have to pay (unless you're flying UC or you're a flying club gold member)

Yes free to all VH customers -
