Hi,

Been off the boards for a couple of months, has anyone done the Virgin from Manchester flights yet? Can you let me know what it was like? We go in October and I know that there has been some issue with the planes being 'wet leased' from somewhere else!

Many thanks

Jennie

We had no problems with flight (end of july beginning of aug). Just like a regular Virgin flight. Plane even had nintendos. :D

David :D

David,

Was this flight using the Air Atlanta Icelandic aircraft and crew?

Booked to fly from Manchester in November using this plane.

Regards

Sean.

Yes

It's actually a virgin owned plane, wet leased to air atlanta .

Virgin own it but air atlanta run it and staff it. It is a 747 - 200 but in new livery.

Don't know what economy was like but club orlando was worth every penny. We had 4 windows to our seat and it was the first time that we've had to unbuckle our seat and walk 2 paces to get the inflight magazine.

Wish we were going back ;) ( November must be about the last of the orlando flights, before it changes over to a carribean flight )

Any other questions - fire away !

David :D

Thanks for that David - but has anyone flown virgin from Manchester recently in economy? Would like to now about seatback TVs, Nintendos, Kids packs etc.,

Thanks

Jennie

Hi Jennie,

We flew Virgin Economy in August. Can't help too much as when we checked in they told us we would be flying with Air Atlanta as the Virgin plane had a technical fault and was still in Orlando. So the plane we flew out on was a plane white jumbo, no seat back tv, just one large screen at the front of the cabin. We still got the K-id pack and amenity bags and usual food. Cabin crew were excellent.

Coming home, we were lucky to have a Virgin plane with seat back tv's and nintendos.

Funny though, we seemed to have more leg room on the Air Atlanta flight going out.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I guess it is a case of wait and see. We flew with Airtours last time and it was pretty basic - but it is only a means to an end. I was quite looking forward to having all the 'Virgin' extras that are talked about so much on these boards.
