Hiya:Pinkbounc

DH and DH's Mum are both Virgin frequent flyers. We were wandering if this gives us a free car upgrade as they have been told this by someone:bounce: Just wandering if anybody else has been able to do this?

Thanks

Is it a Virgin package/fly-drive you are using, or just a virgin flight?

Virgin holidays customers who are members of the frequent virgins club definitely get an upgrade, but if it's Virgin flying club members I don't think that's the case. You may be able to spend accumulated miles to get an upgrade though i'm not certain on this.

Hiya thanks for you quick reply

We have booked the Fly-drive with them for the 3 weeks we are there. But for the first 2 weeks we are staying in a private Villa but for the 3rd week are have booked the hotel with Virgin.

Is this going to make any difference:confused:

Hi Michelle,

Can you just confirm that DH or DH mum are members of the frequent virgins club (i.e. have booked at least 3 virgin holidays in the past) ? They should have a membership card and number if they are.

If they are then you will get an upgrade to the next class of car, you just need to advise Virgin Holidays of the membership number. Have a look at http://www.virginholidays.co.uk/frequent/pages/facts/carupgrade.shtml for the full details.

We are members of both - flying club and frequent flyers.

We used airmiles to book our recent flight to Orlando but were unable to use miles to book the car. We were told that you cannot use both together.

Did query it with the flying club but got no joy.

This will be DH's 3rd holiday and his mums 5th booked with Virgin. They both have cards so all i have to do is ring Virgin and give them the number and they will upgrade us to the next car. I take it we have to pay the extra insurance??

If you're taking Virgin/Dollar's own insurance then it might increase a little if your're going from an economy up to a compact.

Airport taxes also increase by a $1 per day I think when you move up from a compact to an intermediate.

If you didn't get a 10% discount originally when booking online make sure you get this included as a frequent virgin.

Paul

Thanks for that;)

We are going to upgrade to the Compact, and we will be sure to get this sorted ASAp ::yes::
