Hello!

When we booked a couple of months ago, we actually booked through a Virgin Holidays rep, but with Travel City Direct.

He took our Virgin Frequent Flyer membership details and said we would be entitled to earn points on our flights and on currency as we were flying with Virgin.

Could someone confirm this? I've been scouring through the Virgin Frequent Flyer membership info, and the Travel City Direct website - and I can't find anything!

Doesn't matter who you book thru if you are flying on a VA plane you should be entitled to VA airmiles. It depends what booking code you are on, booked within a package sometimes gives you the lowest booking code which only entitles you to 50% of the miles flown, thats all I got last time I flew on a VH package.

We are flying on a Virgin plane and booked on the lowest v code, and are getting 4,000 and something miles + 4 tier points. Have you got a booking reference number? If you have then you should be able to go onto the VA website and " manage your booking" and it will tell you how many miles your getting.

Yeah I agree with Wayne... If you're flying on a virgin plane you will have a VA flight number and will be able to use this to add miles to your frequent flyer account.

Fab!

Thank you guys! I just had a bit of a panic as I checked my points the other night and nothing had been added.

Will the points not be added until a lot closer to the flight? Or, once we've paid it all of? Or, not until after we've flown?

xx

Airmiles are never added to your account until you have actually taken the flight.

I was just about to post and say that I'd called Virgin and that's what they said!

I'm not sure whether I should be annoyed or not... but the guy who we booked with said that we shouldn't pay to upgrade to PE yet as we would have enough points from the booking to upgrade a couple of people!

Obviously implying we would be able to do this before we flew out! Silly really, as we would have happily booked PE there and then!

But thank you all, whilst we've been members of the Frequent Flyer Club for a while we've never actually flown with Virgin so I wasn't sure how it worked when getting points from flying!

Cheers!

Also worth bearing in mind is that if you're flying with anyone who isn't already in the Flying Club, you can "recommend" them (on the VA Flying Club pages, "Miles More Friends" I think), they sign up, add their Flying Club number to the booking, and once they've flown, you get an extra 2500 miles for the recommendation (and they get some bonus as well). Managed to get 4 lots of that myself recently!
