Virgin Flights

They don't tell you movie choice so far in advance, this months choice is here
http://virginatlantic.mymovies.net/

Food is very basic, sometimes inedible(I once took the veggie option, worst thing I tasted in my life) other times not too bad, we tend to eat before boarding then pick at the meal.

We really enjoy flying Virgin. The children always enjoy watching the movies and TV shows and there are plenty of films to watch too, most being quite new releases. If you go on Virgin website as PP suggested you will get a good idea of whats available. On the flights from Gatwick you tend to get computer games to play as well, but not from Manchester:sad2:
The food is airplane food, nothing spectacular but we have found it fine, DS on the other hand is super fussy, so we always take plenty of sandwiches etc for him. Also kids get served first which is great. The cabin crew serve plenty of drinks throughout, and towards the end of the flight i seem to remember them serving some snacks. Also remember A Virgin flght gets there an hour quicker than all other airlines,so they Disney magic starts sooner:cool1:

Gatwick & Manchester used to have a rotation system using the same planes with Heathrow using the better planes, not heard of it changing.
I believe the new planes won't get there(or home) as quick, smaller and slower than the 747's.

I have always found that the films shown on our October flights are what was released in the UK around April/May time, so 6 months ago.

It you count back 6 months from your departure day that may give you an idea of what may be showing. I must add thats just a theory of mine:rolleyes1

we had a choice of 11 films last week flying from MAnchester - there are different ones for journey home. Our seats had the games consoles built in but it was pretty basic games like solitiare, space invaders etc although kids loved it. Spoke to a woman at Typhoon Laggon on Sat , she flew from Gatwick and theres only had the tv /film package no games! Food was ok - We had choice of Vegy Chilli, Cottage pie or roast chicken.. They served afternoon tea :rotfl2: at about 2 hours to go and it was a sandwich and a cookie.

This may be a silly question but do you have to purchase headphones or are they supplied. I have some somewhere from trips taken years ago but probably wouldn't bother taking them anyway.

There does seem a lot of choice anyway. I hope the Airbus will have as much choice for out holiday in May.
