virgin flights!!

Anyone know why vs15 didnt leave yesterday, its scheduled for this morning vs115! the flight that should have left orlando last night is not due back till tomorrow morning.

I'm flying thursday hope its sorted by then

Probably the plane went tech and as the Barbados flight on Saturday had problems it has thrown the schedules a bit. As for the return flight being delayed that is no surprise as it cannot go until the outbound flight arrives as it is the same plane.

Just read elsewhere a LHR plane was meant for the VS15 but got swapped and used for the Barbados flight, hence the delay for the VS15.

There could be many reasons for the delay/cancellation - technical problems, crew shortages or over hours, weather in Orlando (thunderstorm over MCO).
May even be a knock on effect from the VA plane that had to turn back the other day from Barbados. Virgin don't have spare planes so if one goes off-line due to technical problems it has a knock-on effect on other routes.

Today's VS27 and VS15 appeared to be back on track and infact arriving early!

BAA showed the VS27 as taking off at 1141.

We're on the VS16 tonight, checked in at downtown disney at 8.30 and were told our flight wouldnt be leaving until 2 am tomorrow !!!!! already been given a room at the Hyatt at 60 dollars for a meal ..... have a feeling we may still be here lunchtime tomorrow.

On a brighter note..... the weathers lovely now

Thats odd as it arrived on time according to the MCO website -

Unless of course it is due to the flight crews rest hours etc due to the delayed 15 from yesterday.

looking at virgins website to day the flights going to orlando are 11:15 am is now taking off at 15.45pm and the 12:45pm is now taking off at 18.30pm!! cant see them catching up for thursday

yes we were supposed to be on it Hot lips had a technical fault they couldnt fix
they tried replacing parts and that didnt work so the flight was cancelled to monday morning they put us up in a hotel and fed us but we are here now

Hot Lips has been having a few problems lately! I read on V-Flyer she was returned to Gatwick after loosing an engine on take off last week And now she is having problems at Orlando.

Looks like the MCO flights are suffering again due to the other flights being delayed

we have just arrived back home today, w were suppose to be home yesterday.

we were on flight vs016, we were suppose to leave sunday around 8pm, the flight got delayed 24hrs for mechincal reasons, they put us up in the hyatt attached to the airport, we got vouchers for food around the airport. we landed this moring around 5am.

i think everything sorted out now, they got a extra plane out to get us home.

if you do have a delay it should only be around 2-3hrs.

Hi Guys ..... Home now!

Should have been on the VS16 on the 25 Aug which was delayed from 7.30 to 5.30 am the next morning!!!!!

I've always thought Virgin were indifferent from the other airlines but they absolutely did us proud this trip

Checked into Downtown Disney at 8.30 and were told of the delay and given details of our hotel at the Hyatt together with $60 meal vouchers, received an email telling us of the delay, arrived at the airport and were given another $60 vouchers then 5000 airmiles each as compensation.

To be honest the extra sleep at the hotel made our 3 hour journey home from the airport much easier and less tiring.

I'm sure they will get back on track soon as they put another aircraft on.

Highs and lows to follow ........... far too much ironing to do before I can justify the time on the PC.

This may be knock on from yesterdays delay. Could be they have delayed tonights to allow an extra plane to come in by moving one from another route that way allowing both days worth of passengers to fly out. Probably bringing one out of NY and down so might be you end up with a nicer plane
