Virgin Flights in October?

Thinking about a week in October (half term). Does anybody know if the prices of flights are likely to come down or do they stay high? They are about £550 at the moment.

The virgin flight sale (that covered October - I'm going in October ) ended in January - if you will only fly virgin I would just watch the prices. Have you thought about BA or going indirect?

Thinking about indirect flights, but never done it. Anybody any thoughts or experiences?

Just been on opodo.co.uk and entered 2 adults and 2 children, as I don't know how many of you there are! lol

From the 17th to the 24th of October, the price per adult including taxes and booking fees is £361.80 GBP Indirect. £1309 total

Direct is £627 per adult!

We went last Oct half term, Virgin just got more and more expensive nearer it got, ended up at £800pp. I ended up booking with NWA from Heathow via Detroit £240pp. Best decision I ever made, their service knocked spots off Virgins, unfortunatly since then NWA have merged with Delta so no idea how its affected their routes.
We don't mind indirect at all, get immigration done at 1st airport makes it easier on arrival at MCO.

For this Oct USairways are £343 from Gatwick to either MCO or Tampa flying friday or Saturday, If you can go Thursday 22nd it brings cost down slightly to £328, I would fly indirect anyday to save £200+pp others wouldn't.

what are your dates. Have you looked at flyig to tampa, it can often be a lot cheeper than orlando, its about 1hr 45 mis drive away.

Thesale prices often miss the peak travel times ie school holidays. Also as peak they do sell quickly so once you find a price you are willing to pay yhrne book.

I don't know, my son's school has 2 weeks off in October which starts on the 17th this year. I didn't know whether everyone else started then too, or in my son's second week off. I think he goes back on the 3rd of November or something close.

We have 2 weeks in Scotland - known as the tattie holidays

Our weeks start 12th October

lucky you. I moved back to scotland the year that kent started the 2 week hols, and now my kids only get one week. Only a few areas in scotland get the two weeks most are in the tourist areas the reason is to let them have time off as a family, that they don't get in the summer as parents work on tourist area. A few other areas managed to keep hold of the old tatties one. Not only that but here in scotland the kids don't get a week in Feb. I loved that week away form the cold!

Oh it is! Means we can go at my favourite time of year for 2 weeks every time without missing any school.

Cameron has missed some this year, but that's because we're on a major budget this year, so we leave on the 6th.

I can't see direct coming within £200pp of these prices.

opodo £311 1 stop 505 direct virgin - both to orlando

opodo £478 gat- tampa BA direct

oops forgot to add there are usualy voucher codes available for opodo for between £5/10 off per person or £20-30 per booking. I usualy get these on the voucher web sites. or on the forum of www.hoiday-truth.com
