The other week I booked next year's holiday using a special work's number from my hubbie's firm. I asked them for a quote on a Virgin holiday to RPR, they came back with a cheaper price so I went with them.

I now have invoices through and it would appear that though I am on Virgin flights the tour operator is Thomas Cook Signature. I feel a bit misled because I thought I was booking a Virgin Holidays holiday, however, it was cheaper so that is a good thing.

However, because I am not on a Virgin Holiday does this mean I cannot do online check in or Downtown Disney drop off and the like? I feel a bit cheesed off about it because I was really looking forward to all these extra perks.

We booked VA flights through TC Signatures a few years ago and had no problems :)

You can still use all the VA perks - on-line check in, twilight check and Downtown Disney check in (although you will have to pay the $5 per person fee).

You need to ensure that TC Signatures pass your booking details to VA in plenty of time to be able to choose you seating preferences on the VA website though.

I can't see why you couldn't use online check-in and DTD check-in your still on a Virgin flight. It's the same if you had booked a flight only.

That's a relief then, thanks for your replies. Its a bit annoying when you think you have booked one thing and you have booked another. You just don't know who you are speaking to half the time, everybody seems to be working for someone else. When I rang they just said my hubbie's company's name and holiday line, so just thought I was dealing with his company. Then find out it was Thomas Cook Signature and they have booked me under their holiday and not the Virgin Holiday one now.

What reference number did you use Goofyish to express seating preferences?

When TC pass your details over to VA you should get a VA reference. You can then enter that onto the relevant page on the VA website and add in your seating preferences and any special meals you may need - i.e. child's meals, veggy etc.

YOu need to make sure that TC pass your details over to VA as soon as possible though - sometimes they can be a bit slow in passing the information over :)

Thanks for your help. I am looking forward to requesting seats. We don't go till next August 07 am I right in thinking it is 180 days before you can request seats?

You can reserve your seats at 11 months, as soon as the flights come out.

I will do that in September then. :thumbsup2

I believe it used to be 180 days when you had to call VA with your seating preference. But with the 'manage your flights' facility on the VA website it's 11 months before your flight - only if your tour operator has passed your details to VA though :)

Thanks Tim, I will get on to my tour operator next time I ring them up and ask them if they have passed my details across.
