Virgin flight times

It looks like Virgin have taken us off the 11.15 flight in October and we will more than likely be on the 1 o' clock flight. Does anyone know how soon in advance of the flight do Virgin inform you and if you are moved, will you retain the same seats you reserved for the earlier flight? Thanks for any help.
 
In my experience, I have found out on boards such as these way before Virgin got in touch and on both occasions our seats were reallocated to ones we did not want.
 
last feb. we were already at gatwick for the 11.45 flight only to be told flight was delayed ,it was actually delayed until 1.15 and that flight was completely full and i never noticed the 1.15 flight being delayed or cancelled.
