I am FUMING
Had two e-mails today from Virgin telling me of my flight change both going out and coming back.
Not only have they changed the departure time going out they've changed the bloody aircraft
After such an awful journey home on a 747 last year we swore we'd never fly on one again, guess what they've put us on - yes you've guessed it!!!! I wouldn't mind every other day either side of our departure has just had the time altered and not the aircraft so really can't understand why they've done this
Any suggestions![]()
how do you find out what plane is being used for each flight. We fly on Sept 28th leaving Gatwick on the VS15 and I'm blowed if I can see plane we'reon![]()
Sorry forgot to say it' s the VS075 from Manchester returning on the VS076
Same here - 2 e-mails today changing times on outward and return. When I checked online I discovered it's now a 747 coming back, not an A330 as when I booked.
I'm disappointed about the later time leaving, or more to the point arriving, on our outward flight. I've always liked the early arrival into MCO. Quite interested in seeing a refurbished 747 though, assuming they've all been done by then.
What I'm more concerned about is still not being able to see the seat maps and choose seats. That's partly because the whole Virgin system is being rehauled (and, to my mind at least, taking a ridiculously long time in the process!). But partly because of the 747 refits, supposedly they don't know which aircraft will do which flights. However, if that's the case, then why have they changed my return flight from an A330 to a 747? When it suits them, they know which aircraft it will be; but when it might suit the passenger, they profess not to know.
For many years I've been able to see seat availability on other airlines before I book, and have sometimes changed my flight dates around that availability. Virgin have been behind the times by only letting you see availability after booking. But now I feel like I'm back in the Dark Ages, possibly not knowing my seats until I check-in, and then simply being told where I'm sitting and getting no choice in the matter.
Don't they realise that I'm OCD about these things!![]()
Yours has the 747-400 at the moment..![]()
Thanks for that Vanda but if you can do you mind telling me how you look it up so that if poss I can do it myself![]()
Oh I don't know about that its a secret
The way I do it is to do a dummy booking on VA when its found your day go into it and it will come up with the flight numbers available. You'll see that your flight VS15 is underlined, click on that and it will tell you the current aircraft allocated.
It's normally correct but with all the refurbs you never can tell if they might change it still....![]()
We fly from Gatwick on Dec 6th at 11.15 on the Airbus but, coming back we fly back at 19.30hrs on a 747. Hope they don't change the times.![]()

oh lordy who knows then! A340-600 is still an airbus and if you look at seat guru website for VA it is a 2-4-2 seating plan! Interesting, very interesting![]()

A340-600 is the plane type that most usually does the Heathrow-Miami route.
Is the A330-300 a double decker craft? I can't believe the outward flight (VS0075) now takes 9hr 40mins and doesn't land until 4pm![]()
