Due to operational reasons, Virgin Atlantic has had to cancel the following services in September 2007:

London-Orlando

There will be no Tuesday, Wednesday or Sunday VS027/028 service between 9th and 30th September 2007 inclusive. Passengers will be reprotected on VS015/016 services on the same days.

Manchester-Orlando

There will be no Sunday VS075/VS076 service between 9th and 30th September 2007 inclusive. Passengers will be reprotected onto VS075/076 flights on the preceding Saturdays.

There will be no Thursday, Friday or Saturday VS073/074 services between 6th and 29th September 2007 inclusive. Passengers will be reprotected on VS075/076 services on the same days.

Please call the contact centre if originally booked on one of the above services. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Sounds as though it could be a good time to be visiting Orlando :thumbsup2 .

Travelling on the VS027 on the 10th October - hope they don't extend the time scale as lost all my pre-assigned seating last trip owing to amalgamation of flights !!!!

Hi,
Not so good for the Sunday Manchester passengers leaving a day sooner sorting out accomodation car hire time off work etc.

Mick.

:cool2:

All airlines have to have time to repair/renew the aircraft and Sept is a quiet time, plus the 747's are due their airworthyness certification around that time and this will also effect their ability to run aircraft (you amy even get some inetresting aircraft doing the Sept flights)

Just curious (as we are flying just after those dates) - what happens if you have a companion flight and they cancel the flight? Do you still get both of you in the right class? We are booked PE and would hate to be changed to ordinary Economy

Apologies if I sound a little thick! but what exactly does "reprotected" mean - I assumed it meant the passengers from the VS027 would be moved to the later flight - but some posts appear quite excited by this, so what if any are the benefits - other than loosing your preassigned seating and arriving at MCO an hour and a half later?

Obi, could it have anything to do with the upgrade of PE?

Not too sure myself what it means. I take it that your tickets will be valid for that flight. Not sure if that is the time allocated for tyhe new PE seats I will have to find out.
Update
Nope, not being fitted to the LGW fleet until 2008

Suits me, im looking to book for Sept anyway!

We are also still looking to book and hoping for a sale soon! No idea what we will end up paying but last year we got off cheap at 299 each so I don't want to pay more than that if we can help it :) !

It looks like you are. I would urgently ring VA or the Flying club (or the travel company if you are using one). I take it you are on the VS flight number mentioned for Manchester?

Hi,

We booked with Thomas Cook Signature and we haven't been told of this.

If I have this right its the Sunday flight that is being affacted right?

Does this mean I fly out now on Monday?

Help!!!

Lora,
If you look at the statement from Virgin:-

"Manchester-Orlando

There will be no Sunday VS075/VS076 service between 9th and 30th September 2007 inclusive. Passengers will be reprotected onto VS075/076 flights on the preceding Saturdays.

There will be no Thursday, Friday or Saturday VS073/074 services between 6th and 29th September 2007 inclusive. Passengers will be reprotected on VS075/076 services on the same days."

It looks like you are flying out on the Saturday before the sunday you were booked on, and back also on the Saturday.

I would get hold of Thomas cook and raise merry hell about this as they need to re book your hotel. Or maybe they will use another carrier???
