Just had an email from Vigin Flying Club with news of their competition to win 2 economy flights to any VA destination in the US plus a week's car rental from Avis. Great, I thought - got to give this a go! :thumbsup2

Then I read the small print and, although it would still be a very nice prize, it seems it's not quite as generous as I first thought :scratchin:.

The terms and conditions include:

  • Travel is not permitted between 12 December 2007 - 7 January 2008 and 1 July - 31 August 2008.
  • Actual dates of travel will be subject to availability at the time of the booking. Availability for use of prize tickets is limited for each flight. Some flights may already be booked and consequently have no seats available.
  • Passenger taxes, charges, fees and surcharges (the amount of which are subject to change) on the prize tickets are to be paid by the prize winners.

There is no claim that it would be a free trip, but it would cost quite a bit in taxes, charges, etc., for whoever wins!

its a bit of a con isn't it ....especially as they don't specify how much the charges are :scared1:

I just entered Hilary - the way I figure it, it will still be cheaper than having to pay full whack ;)

Most prizes involving flights do not include taxes and that is in the small print! Most US flights have taxes of about £160.

Claire ;)
