Virgin Delay

Well today it's delayed until 17.00 because apparantly, 'Barbarella' was struck by lightening incoming and has damaged the door at the rear so cannot be VS075. We are currently waiting for an aircraft to arrive from Gatwick!!:sad2:

oh dear!
Just one of those things unfortunatly.

Thats bad luck but not really Virgins fault. Hope you get there soon. :goodvibes

Not enjoying all these reports of what will be my flight in July being delayed :(

Ive flown with Virgin 8 times and only had one proper delay of about 4 hours.

I hope things are back on track for thursday  .....when would we be able to find out?, would it just be through checking on the flight times on virgin's website?

The more we demand cheaper and cheaper flights, the worse these problems are going to get. Virgin simply doesn't have the money to re-invest in order to run the quality operation it once did, whilst still satisfying the stock market.

We have another thread running about delays on the VS75, so I am going to merge the two.

OK, due to the lightening strike, the situation is this.
Crew and replacement plane flown up from gatwick, as VS76 damaged by lightening strike.

VS75 took off at 17:42, some 7 hours late. This flight is expected into Orlando at 21:01, instead of 14:35 (US time) She is making up time and latest expected arrival time is 20:50.

This has impacted on the VS76 coming back and instead of dep at 18:15 is now estimated at 23:15, 5 hours late. This is estimated into Manchester at 12:25 instead of 07:25.

VS76 tomorrow will be late because of this late arrival and at the moment is now est dep of 14:25 with arrival at 18:35 in Orlando.

Its far too early to say what effect this all will have on Thursdays VS75, more info will be available tomorrow to give Thurs info.

Well,
VS75 landed at 20:45, so made up another 15 mins on the flight.
VS76 took off at 23:46 and is now estimated to arrive at 12:45, though it is making up some time (but not a lot) with an estimated runway landing now at 12:40. some 5 hours and 20 mins late.

Todays VS 75 is now estimated for take off at 15:25 with an arrival at MCO of 19:35 :-( (5 hours late)

No news yet on VS76 for today/tonight or VS75 for tomorrow.

VS76 finally arrived abck at manchester at 12:48

Todays VS75 now looking at an estimated take off of 15:25 still 5 hours behind schedule with an arrival time into Orlando of 18:44 (23:44 Uk time)

This IS going to continue to effect VS76 and so tomorrows VS75, sorry CHEK

Even though at the moment VS76 is still scheduled to take off on time!

One small consolation for those flying out on todays delayed flight is the replacement - Cosmic Girl - has a Heathrow layout and the much better V-Port in flight system. Don't know how long this aircraft will stay on the route though.
Watched it take off from Manchester this afternoon - we'll be on that flight in 46 days:banana:

Wow! Lucky people! especially in PE as Cosmic Girl like the LHR 747's only has 32 PE seats but 44 Upper Class seats (LGW/MAN have 14)

Some will have been upped to at least UC seats!
