I have been to Disney 20+ times but we always stay off property & try to eat hardly anything while there (you can go more times if you do it super cheap!) This time we are doing the DDR special in September & I want to eat at places I know I won't get to go to on my own checkbook. I just made ressies please tell me what you think:

Day 1: 1900 Park Fare dinner 5:45pm, except it is in the Grand Floridian Cafe. I didn't know how that would effect my experience.
Day2: Whispering Canyon 5:20pm
Day3: San Angel 4:30pm
Day4: Ohana 7:30pm
Day5: Haven't decided
Day6: La Cellier 2:50pm for late lunch
Day7: Haven't decided

Where should I go on my undecided days? Will my experience be less impressive with a lunch at La Cellier?

Just a little info on my party: We're 7, who are all meat & veggie lovers, we're all thin & don't eat a lot (I'm a Weight Watchers leader) and 2 girls aged 5&6 who love grilled rare steak more than anything. None of us are too picky or too adventurous. And mostly we eat an early dinner thus the earlier times, especially since we'll have a 6 month old baby with us.

Also, we are thinking at some of the places (like San Angel) we might split meals. I know we'll do that at counter service places. If we end up all having a meal left on Day 7 what non-character in-park TS place has a breakfast for us to do at around 11:00 am?

Thanks in advance!!! Please help me, my tummy is in knots pondering the infinite possibilities & making the most of this experience.

Oh, finally, I'm a professional baker (I know, I know let the Weight Watchers leader is a pastry chef???? questions fly) so I really know my desserts. Which places have the very best pastry/cheesecake/dessert? And don't mention France as I know that bakery well! Yummy!

With the ages of the kids, I would add in a few more character meals. Maybe try Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace.

Are you planning to watch Fantasmic? If so, I'd use one of the credits for the Fantasmic Dinner Package.

How about Boma on a day you are planning to visit AK? The food is great- lots of veggie and meat selections and if your kiddos are foodies, then they can get anything they want from the buffet.

Do you know where you are going to be on your undecided days?

Lunch in Norway (Princess Storybook) was our FAVORITE meal of the week (food-wise)

Spoodles has some healthy options, big portions,
maybe Coral Reef? the girls might like that, plus they have steak.
I really like GF cafe, not sure how the menu will go with 1900 park faire being closed, but the desserts are good.
I don't know how many children you are taking? Buffets are good, but hard if you have to fill your own plate and several youngsters plates at the same time.
Boma has a great variety, though.
Or you could try concourse steakhouse.

wolfgang puck cafe at DTD is a good place for steak as is Concourse Steakhouse.

I agree that I would add a few more character meals with kids.

Really? I had wanted to do that but the food looked yucky. What did you especially love? Also if I did that I would cancel the 1900 park fare. Which Mickey meal should I do instead?

The cold buffet had some great salads on it. The cold cuts and cheeses were fresh and delicious too. If you are not a fish fan, just skip the smoked salmon and trout and picked herring!

I had the soup and sandwich and it was so good, I nearly licked the plate. The soup was rich and creamy and the open-faced salmon sandwich was perfectly prepared. My husband had the traditional Kjottkaker (basically Norwegian meatloaf) and it was delicious. The girls just had hot dogs and corn.

The dessert was served family style and they offered us more when we finished it off. Luckily we each preferred a different one so there was no family fight over anything!

Ohana and Le Cellier are definatly good choices, definatly keep those. Other favorites of mine, (for one TS credit,) are; Boma, Crystal Palace, (especially since you have kids,) and Wolfgang Puck Cafe. I also really like the breakfast at Akershus, but not as much as Crystal Palace, and dinner at Brown Derby, but that's two credits, and despite the excellant food and service I've always recieved there, it's not the best value dollar wise. Kona Cafe is another good choice.

I was going to suggest the same two. We really enjoyed both of these last year when we had the free dining. We did a breakfast and dinner the night of MNSSHP at Crystal Palace, it is now a must for every vacation.
