Hi I was wondering if anyone has used this service to get to/from the airport? We're thinking of booking upper class for the way home in December and we saw that includes the chauffeur service.
It says it's free up to 90 miles (I think!) - we're 110 miles from Gatwick - has anyone used this and had to go futher? If so I was wondering if the extra distance is a reasonable price or if it's a rip off!

TIA :thumbsup2

We have used it a few times. Virgin use TriStar for their Upper ''Limo'' Service. I believe we have had a nice Volvo each time and the drivers are always friendly and will take any route you prefer. Only R, D or J class ticket's include the service so double check you are not on a Z. They will take you further than the 90 miles (I thought however they had lowered this recently to 75??) but you will have to pay a fee which they will pre arrange with you. I believe this is payable to your driver but I've never had to do it so not positive.

That's great thanks - could well be 75 miles but I have 90 in my head for some reason
I just wanted to check what the damage would be beforehand but we couldn't find anything searching using Vrigin, I'll try TriStar and hopefully something will come up :thumbsup2 if it's really expensive we may just drive and park at the airport (we're going out economy) but if it's only a little bit extra I think that would be a nice way to end the holiday.
Good to know they provide a good service, I'd hate to have a horrible journey after a transatlantic flight :goodvibes

Why not just call Virgin and ask? I'm sure they will have the information for you. We've used it to go to Heathrow and it is fabulous, especially since they now have their dedicated check-in where they can drive you right up - no waiting for check-in, no long security lines. For us, it is the only way to go when we fly Virgin. But, yes, it doesn't apply to discounted upper class so you're paying the price for it.

I would advise you give Virgin a call. TriStar via their own website are quite pricey and I would presume Virgin would have discounted rates for you. It's something that can only be quoted over the phone I would think.
Virgin Upper Class is 0800 9804444.
Yes the service has always been excellent.

Also you can use miles to add on the service if you are on a Z fare.
Last time I check it was 12,500 one way so not the best way to use miles but it depends what you like to do with them :goodvibes

If only Gatwick had something simular  I agree Heathrow is incredible in that respect.
