I'd heard some horror stories about calling Virgin and getting through to a call centre in India.

I rang a couple of nights ago regarding my holiday I'd booked for Sept 09.

I had booked from the preview brochure with the sales pitch of this being cheaper than the actual 2009 brochure.

Well when the full brochure was released last week I priced my holiday again online and it was a over two hundred quid cheaper!

I was straight on the phone and when I realised I was put through to India my heart sank. HOWEVER, I spoke to a great guy who didn't even realise the full brochure was out yet as they had not even seen it!!!!

I explained all the prices were online and my holiday was over £250 cheaper. He had a quick look and agreed and then said he would amend it but I would have to pay £25pp admin charge = £100.

Not too happy but thought well the £150 reduction was better than nothing. When he priced it all back up and taking into acount the extra £100 he had still saved me £330!!
I had got a free child price and the child price had gone down - BUT the adult price had gone up £20 each.

When I hung up and finally found my copy of the preview brochure I loked at the T&Cs and it stated that they guaranteed the basic adult cost of the holiday would not be cheaper in the full brochure - which it wasn't. They would not take into account reduction in costs dues to free child prices etc. oops!!!!

So THANK THANK THANK YOU Zak from India. :worship:

Having so much bad luck at the moment that this was such a welcome result!

It looks as though their incompetence has paid off in this instance! :teeth:

woohoo well done.
weve been ringing up Virgin a lot lately as we really wanted to stay at the Contemporary Resort and although it wasnt in the last 2years brochures it was available online.
when we rang up we were put through to virgin in USA, they told us they werent doing the CR at all this year, so we decided on the Poly the lady helping us was going to give us a quote for the Poly but at the last min when she checked she found they added the CR! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Great news! It's great when everything works in your favour. :cool1:

Makes a change to see Virgin offering to help and to give you the cheaper price.

Im afraid if I ring customer services for anywhere and I get through to India I put the phone down, I find it so frustraiting now, that I would rather not bother, but well done you!

Same here. If you're a Frequent Virgin club member, always use the dedicated number for them. It's an 0844 number which is cheaper than the 0871 number everyone else has to use and they use the English call centre. You always get through pretty quick and not left hanging on the phone for ages.

We always go onto 'saynoto0870' website and get there 'normal' number then at reception ask to be put through to bookings, some reason never been put through to India, and its cheaper:thumbsup2

That's good. Last time I looked on saynoto0870 they didn't have a normal number for VH. That was last year so someone must have sniffed one out :thumbsup2

Glad you got a result. I phoned up to make a change to a booking as I got half term dates wrong and was told that Virgin don't fly from Manchester to Orlando.:lmao:
