Virgin baggage and ADR questions

I'm going to Orlando in two weeks :cool1: and I have a couple of last minute questions.

I'm flying Virgin Atlantic and I cannot find anything about a "personal item" for cabin allowance. Every other line I've flown with allows a carry on and a personal item (like a small backpack). Nothing about it on Virgin. Is it forbidden then?

I have an ADR for two at Be or Guest, snatched at 182 days. However 2 friends will join us for a week: I've succeeded to add them for all my ADR, except the BoG one.
We'll try again the day before, hoping for a last minute cancellation, however do we have any chance if we just show up with a party of 4 and ask if they have 2 more seats at our table? If they say no we'll just split the party, but if you think we have no hope we would not even attempt.

Thanks you all in advance!

VA only allow one item of baggage plus a small hand bag or some other items but not a small backpack.

With BoG just keep trying everyday for that ADR. Whether they will be able to accommodate the increase in party size will be up to luck on the day. If they are not running behind or have had some no shows you may get lucky. The worst they can say is no so have a plan B and all will be good :)

Thank you.
That's disappointing. I prefer to pack in the hand baggage as much as I can, so if the baggage is lost of delayed I have anything I need for a few days anyway. Not being able to bring a backpack kinda hurts. It looks like next year I'll wait for a BA sale. ;)

You can bring a back pack as long as it is within the size and weight restriction, we always take one with us.

Virgin's weight allowance for the cabin bag is now 10kg, so you'll definitely be able to squeeze plenty in - as long as your bag doesn't go over stated size limits. Even if it does, as long as it'll squish down to fit then that'll be fine.

My brother takes the hand luggage, a fairly large camera bag and a bumbag. I take one of those SubZero 4-wheel cabin bags with my laptop in it, and also a decent sized handbag (not small, but not carpetbag sized, either).
