can someone who knows virgin planes please help us?

we have booked to got odisney in 6 months and are wondering what our baggage allowance is? are we allowed 2 suitcases each and 1 piece of hand luggage each? just it says on the web page that this is the case but it seems alot, thank you for anyhelp you can offer

Virgin allow 2 x 32kg cases to be checked in and one piece of hand luggage per person. Go out empty, come back full!

Yep, seemed a lot to us too but the 3 of us went out with 4 cases and ended up coming back home with 6 :rotfl:
Maybe that's why Virgin have a 3 hour check in rather than the usual 2........

ps Walmart have some great suitcase offers - they're obviously used to people dashing out to buy extras....

that seems a lot of luggage but i checked the website and thats what it says.
i think the bit people need to be a little careful on is the size of the bags
width + height+depth should not exceed 158 cm....in total..
i have checked my two suitcases and they are both bigger than this although i know the weight will not be a problem.
can anyone who has travelled before on virgin comment on whether they seemed to be looking at the size of cases. i can understand weight but people may get caught out on the size if virgin are strict.

Lisa - I've just measured my cases (they still have the Virgin stickers & lables on from when we came back last week!) and the biggest has a depth+height+width of 165cm. No one said a thing to us about them being oversize at either Manchester or Orlando. The only thing they did was put a sticker on it as it was > 26kg to warn the handlers it was a heavy bag.

i always travel Virgin, and at no time have I ever seen virgin measure a bag for size, all they do is weigh it!!.
The last time we went a woman infront of us had a humongus case big enough to get 2 children in standing up I would say!!!.
You will be fine, 2x32kg is a heck of alot of weight!!!!!

I had a monstrosity of a suitcase last time and noone said a word :)

Ours came in the post with the tickets but you can get extra from the reps or at the airport.
Alison :sunny:

we have e tickets this time so i suppose i will have to wait till i get to the airport and fill them in for five of us. :rotfl2: that will be fun :crowded: :thewave:

Maybe try the Virgin website.
I'd imagine they'll send you out tags if you asked.
It's always my dread that I've got to write them out in the queue! :rotfl:
Have a fantastic time and say hello to Belle for DD :cloud9:

thank you to everyone you have been very helpful! we have booked with thomas cook and they said we were allowed 1 suitcase weighing 20kg, but we are flying with virgin so thought this was wrong! thank you thank you thank you!!!

We returned home yesterday. Our cases were not weighed as we used virgin check in and therefore didnt have the heavy sticker on them. But as i crammed everything in to our big cases and then sat on the to shut it and it was a squeeze they had to be over the 26k mark.
We went out with 2, bought two more in walmart for our return.

also the flea market in kissimmee had some good prices on luggage.

I take it no one had any problems bringing all this stuff back through UK Customs? Obviously, no Dis-er would spend more than £145 per person  :guilty: but I wonder if the customs bods look out for the returning brits :wave2:

I came back from California last September with over $700 of personal purchases. Went to the Red channel and I would swear that we woke the guy :)

Anyway, he asked why we were in the red channel and I explained and he just waved us through.
