Hey guys,

Does anyone know how far out you can log into your booking with Virgin Atlantic - I'm booked through VH to leave on September 15th 2011 and thought you could log on 11 months out...but as far as I've tried, nothing yet :confused3 Just a little worried that somethings wrong! It shouldn't be with the amount of emails that have been to-ing and fro-ing between me and VH! :thumbsup2

:goodvibes TIA

Hi there.

We too have booked with Virgin for next Easter.

You should be able to look into your reservation as soon as you have been issued with your invoice.

What you should do now is pre-book your seats. However, this is done via the Virgin Atlantic website which will not recognise your Virgin Holidays booking number. You therefore needed to contact Virgin and request a special VA number. Once you have this you can then log onto the VA site and check your booking and select your seats.

Hope that this helps.

Thanks for the advice - I've contacted them so I'll see what they say.

Pre-booking seats isn't too much of an issue for me, as I have to request bulkhead seats due to my disability..but I do it anyway just in case.

Its odd about the special VA number, as last year (and previous years) I was able to use my VH reference number, and it says in VA's FAQs that you can :confused3

Just a little strange

I just tried calling them and the only answer I was met with was - its because the tickets haven't been issued yet...which I don't think is necessarily correct based on previous years, and information other people have provided

Like I said, I've had my invoice (and several from then on) since June 2010. Would have thought I'd be able to look seeing as its past the 11 month mark :confused3

What we did was call VH to request the ref number VA required.

I too could not understand as to why the same company operate two diffrent numbers as was simply told "that's the procedure"

If I did not call them I would have waited only then to find out that we could not book our seats together.

I would suggest that you call VH and quote your booking ref with them and then request you VA booking ref :confused3:confused3:confused3.

Good luck

You should be able to log in 11 months from your RETURN date :thumbsup

You will be able to use your VH reference too.

The only thing to note is VH send the booking details across in batches and they only used to do this on a Wednesday :confused3 not sure if it has changed but worth waiting till the Wednesday after you 11 month from return date before calling.

THANKYOU! I was just on the phone to VH and they said the exact same thing...I misunderstood and thought it was the departure date! We get back on the 4th October, so that'll be the 4th November...oh, i hate waiting!

Thanks everyone for all your advice :goodvibes I can relax now :thumbsup2

Hi what page did you get stuck on?

theres a section 1st that you enter your ref number and names.
it should show up a section that says-we were unable to find your flights.
enter the date and flight number and it may show.

we're going August next year and could only get on recently ourselves.
I think its 11 months out from the return flight-thats what we were told when we called up. despite the website saying differently.
There are no plane layouts as theyre changing the planes they use. Have heard these should be online in November sometime.

good luck and dont panic, im sure your booking will show up soon :goodvibes

Its the page where you have to enter your flights :) I was just a little worried as I thought the 11 months was from the departure date, not the date you arrived back in the UK :upsidedow

Again, thanks for everyones help :goodvibes

We had an interesting day with booking seats thanks to reading this thread...

I booked VH in February 2010 for July 2011 via a travel agent. I couldnt get into my booking to reserve seats so went into the TA this morning to check up. THey phoned through to VH and got the reference number which we duly went home clutching.

When we went online this afternoon to book seats - we noticed that our departure and return dates had changed by one day! We were phoned by the TA a couple of weeks ago to advise the flight departure time had gone back 35 minutes but nothing was mentioned about change of dates! Somewhat annoying as we have prebooked 2 non refundable rooms at travelodge at Mcr Airport and also already booked and paid for parking.

The TA blamed it on the delay from VH sending our booking through to VA. On checking our original departure dates we noticed that to fly on the dates we booked 18 months previous to departure the flight only price through VA is now just over £1k per seat. To fly on the ammended dates seat only, again via VA is showing as £882. My suspicious mind suspected foul play - grr!

Credit to the TA and VH as they very quickly offered a cash sum as compensation which I accepted and I am satisfied with this outcome. Just very glad I saw this thread this morning and thought I must book my seats! :thumbsup2

To cap it all off: seats are still not reserved as the system will not let us book still. Will keep trying....!

Thants shocking they changed your dates. Im glad you managed to get some compensation. :goodvibes
Hopefully the seats will be available soon :wizard:
