I am looking to upgrade my flight in december to PE both ways - i was told completely different things/

First person told me it was £311 per person each way + £70 charge for changing and i could upgrade 1 way or both.

The second person told me i could only upgrade both ways for £750

The third person told me i couldnt upgrade as "all sales are final and cannot be changed"

Who is right? :confused3

Can i upgrade at check in without paying the extra £70 charge for amending my booking?

What have you booked and with who? Have you booked a flydrive or package holiday with a holiday company (i.e. Virgin Holidays, Thomas Cook etc...) or have you booked flights only direct with Virgin Atlantic?

You can always try to upgrade at check-in - they should charge you a flat fee (i.e. £250 per person one way). BUT whether there are seats available for you to upgrade into (and the exact cost) is a gamble if you leave it until the airport.

Also, do you know what class your ticket is? i.e. economy, but is it
y, B L M Q X V N as some are upgradable and other are not.

I have upgraded a few times as money comes in, Ifeel I can afford more, and every time they have been helpful and never charged an amendment fee at VH.
Don't know if this is a new policy but if they have the seats is more money for them so they shouldnt charge an amendment as well.

Are you flying very soon?

I often see people upgraded at the airport as they oversell economy so it makes sence to help you.

I booked direct with Virgin Atlantic as it was flights only.
Im flying on the 30th November, so not that soon.

Im happy to pay the additional cost of the upgrade im just confused by getting a different story each time i book!

I think my ticket is N Class? :confused3

I know, confusing, isn't it...? I don't really know the answer (apart from to keep phoning until you get an answer you like and go for it... :confused3 ). My best guess would be the fare difference between your current fare and the cheapest available PE fare + maybe a change fee... IF your fare is changeable.

When are you going? Are you going before 12th December? In the 5 day sale, PE from London to Orlando is available at £619 per person, return (http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/specialoffers/fivedaysalepe.jsp). If there is availability on your dates, it would be cheaper than all 3 of the options currently offered to you (although would mean "throwing away" your current tickets...).

Will ask around see if I can find anything else out...
