Does any one know if you can choose your seats online before your tickets arrive? If not do you think it would be best to ring to make sure the 3 of us get to sit together?

I tried this when I booked 5 months ago but was unable to access the seating plan, when I contacted Virgin I was told that even though I had the Flight No Date and Virgin bookin reference I was unable to do so because the tickets had not been issued, I hasten to add I did not book directly with Virgin though.
However I was able to arrange for my seating on the phone on both outboard and inboard flights

I keep trying on the website but it keeps coming up with "Sorry we are unable to find your booking" arrrrrr is annoying will have to ring up.

If you have booked directly with Virgin, you can pick your seats. I have already done it - I got the same message as you but phoned Virgin up and they gave me a seperate number specifically to use for booking seats/meals.

Oh, just to add, I am not going until Jan.2007.

According to my Virgin Atlantic confirmation and online details I have been allocated seat 30h both oon the trip out and the trip back, so will I get these?

We've definately had our reserved seats going, but coming back is a bit of lottery. Best to get to the DTD check-in early to be on the safe side.

i booked through Thomson and have my seats booked online for end of June

I understand to book seats online you must book either with Virgin atlantic or Virgin holidays directly.

I have seen a few complaints during my time from people saying these seats are guaranteed, they can and do change them.

Particularly if:-

Its Economy, happens less in PE and UC.
Its at a peak time say school holidays.
You turn up late.
Or you check in at Orlando airport rather than downtown disney.

They overbook flights knowing that some people will not turn up, sick etc.

Best is to turn up early, and use downtown disney check in early.

We booked with VH for Dec on Saturday night, online, and by yesterday afternoon we could book our seats in the 'Manage my flights' section of VA :teeth: I must say it does seem more long winded if its not a VA or VH booking.

Claire ;)

Actually if you book online with VH you can them immediately go into the VA site, put in your VH booking ref and choose your seats.

(providing you have not booked more than a year or so out)

Unfortunately, these allocations are requests only and do not guarantee you those seats.

Although the general line is that the requested seats are yours unless there are 'operational reasons' to change them (i.e. change of aircraft layout) our personal experience is that we've had the 'allocated' seats less than half of the times we've flown with Virgin. There are others here who have had a much better success rate than that so, hopefully, you'll be one of the lucky ones :)

You can make seat requests online if you've booked with another agency, but you need to make sure you have the Virgin booking reference rather than the agent's own reference number.

These are not seats that I requested, they are the ones that I got allocated when I booked with VA. Does that make a difference.

Sorry, I don't know :confused3 I only know of seats pre-requested by the passenger after booking, or seats that are allocated at check-in. I haven't come across ones that have been allocated by VA on booking.

Hopefully, someone else can answer this one! :)
