Virgin Atlantic Inflight Entertainment

we're on the LGW-MCO flight with Virgin this coming May and I was just wondering what the inflight entertainment is like.

Whenever I fly to Miami(with Virgin) we have the on demand seatback tv screens but a friend of mine just mentioned that the Orlando flights have films on a loop instead of on demand.

Is this true?

never had films on loop with Virgin in our 10 flights with them. Always from MCO-LGW and return and always as you say get the option on back of seat.

Whenever we fly Virgin economy (LGW to MCO) on their 747's the IFE is always on a loop. I don't know if PE have on demand films.

We have flown with Virgin 3 times now and each time they have been on a loop. But Virgin are supposed to be refitting all their planes and putting in the new tv system but it will not be completed until 2012. Hope this helps

We have only ever had the movies on a loop from Gatwick to Orlando..
I think they are upgrading the inflight entertaining soon. But basically you chose a channel and it plays the same thing on a loop and if you get up you can't stop it..

It will completely depend on which flight you're on, if you know the details of your flight (route, registration etc) just select it when you go onto this website - http://v-flyer.com/the-toolbox/which-aircraft & It will tell you the recent data of your flight - also click on 'The Toolbox' menu at the top then click 'Inflight Entertainment' to know the details about the different systems.

Sorry I stand corrected. My DS tells me that you can only swap films when they have all finished not at will. Clearly Mum has never attempted this and be so boring to watch a full film before opting for a different one

Thanks everyone, I guess that's still better than those airlines that still play the films on the big screens near bulkhead seats.

Thank you for that link, according to that the flight has been flown with 'Beauty Queen' and 'Mademoiselle Rouge', who both have 'jam' inflight entertainment

First time I have ever flown with Virgin was last year in business class. I was very disappointed with the whole setup, tatty planes, the least attentive biz service I have ever had, and the antiquated tv not on demand was terrible.

I believe tha Manchester to Orlando VS075 has on demand, but the flight which leaves an hour later doesn't! So I guess it all depends which flight you take.

We flew from Glasgow to Manchester and it was on demand films, though all previous flights had been on the loop (very annoying when you have some 3 hour Oscar hopeful on!)

On demand was much better and there was a much bigger selection of movies, tv shows, music etc. Hoping we'll have the same system when we fly from Manchester in November!
