I am looking to fly premium economy for the first time next year and am just looking into the best (cheapest!!) way to do it?

I will be looking for 3 adults and have enough miles for either one person's round trip ticket or all three with miles plus money but have just seen about a Companion Ticket? I can't see how this works. Do I book one full paying fare and then get a companion ticket for just the cost of taxes?

I'm confused?? :confused3

For those who have flown PE - is it definately worth the extra?

We fly PE most of the time however whether its worth it is subjective to you. I am 5'10" and DH is 6'3" so we appreciate the extra leg room :thumbsup2

We don't use the extra luggage allowance. The service is nice but not really worth the extra since the bubble has been split. Having the PE only bubble really was worth paying for.

As for companion tickets - you have to book a seat in one of the more flexible fare codes (S or W) and last time I checked I could get 2 miles plus money seats for less than one S fare plus taxes for the companion. It might be worth calling flying club when you are ready to book and they will work through your options with you.

It's worth the extra if you can absolutely afford it, or if it's especially cheap. If it's something that's going to really financially stretch you, it's not worth it (JMO).

PE on the A330s seemed much nicer than the refurb 747s though so maybe that's what's putting me off saying it's 100% worth the extra cost. It does have it's advantages, but in actual monetary terms, £200ish pp each way for more legroom, slightly quicker bag drop and collection and a bottle of water and fancy cutlery sounds like a lot lol! But I definitely slept better on the night flight with the added space.

I'm still dreaming about an UC upgrade though - those seats are another league!

The extra leg room seats are good at £40(?) pp though. It's a personal choice at the end of the day - I would happily go economy but DH says he wouldn't fly unless it was in PE.
