We are considering a vip tour at magic kingdom on our last day of vacation. Is it worth it? Does it work on all the rides in magic kingdom?

"Worth it" is very subjective. At say $800/hour (prices vary), 7 hour minimum you're looking at $6500+ (including tip) plus the cost of your park tickets. Even if you split it 10 ways, you're still looking at over $700/person with the ticket prices included.

To the average guest, I think they'd say that it's not worth it to save a bit of time in line. But if that kind of money isn't an issue, then why not... you'd see the parks in a way you'd never see it before or likely again.

I don't think you're guaranteed access to all attractions.

Worth for these types of things is very subjective. Worth is really going to depend on your own expectations and the value you deem in the offering. All that said, we haven't done a tour at WDW yet (we'll do our first in August) but we have done it a couple times at DL. For us, it is VERY worth it especially if you got at a busy time of year. We used it during Gay days at DL and that was a very wise choice.

We very much enjoyed being whisked away into all the FP (I suppose LL now) queues. We were able to ride more rides in a day than we would have been able to do otherwise on a day that busy. We also had a fireworks viewing after one of the tours and that was an amazing perk. Loved having a reserved area for the fireworks and not having to forage through the forest of people to find a spot to plant ourselves.

At DL, there was nothing they wouldn't take us on that we asked to go on. Are there specific rides at MK you are curious about?

I’ve never heard of anyone having anything but a wonderful time on a vip tour. Now is it worth it? Maybe yes, maybe no. It’s like asking if it’s worth it to fly first class, it might be. If a vip tour is going to put you in debt I’d say it’s absolutely not worth it, if you have the money, you (most likely) won’t regret it.

It was well worth it when we did the vip tour in Disneyland. But there were no fast passes or genie available. Now that you can do lightening lane and genie just tying to see if it would be worth it in Florida?

I have always viewed those VIP tours as something for the 'money is no object' crowd who don't want to wait in any lines. Those new Genie options let you pick certain rides or pay an extra fee to ride them. VIP tours and Genie to me are totally different products.

It’s a great, memorable tour but whether ir not it’s worth it is up to you. For many people the cost of one could pay for a whole other vacation! And you have to tip too. We plan to do another one next year for my DD graduation trip. It’s an experience you’ll always remember, it’s exhausting too though lol.

Good point.

I would love to do one, but never would.. I'd be freaking out. WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU HAVE GO POTTY? It's costing $300 for you to pee.

When you go on rides. do you go right to the ride or do you have to wait like a FP? I mean some rides have 30 min waits .

You don’t wait in the LL line. You go straight to the front.

And if you’re talking about the personally guided tour, for the love of Walt, go to at least three parks! You’re not limited to MK.

We were put thru the Fp lane but it’s been a few years since we’ve done it

Depends on the ride. I know for some, you still go through the LL line. Having a plaid with you is essentially a whole day fastpass. That is how they treated it at DL and I was told that is how it would operate (at least for Rise of the Resistance) for our tour in August.

Yes, you get LL access to all eligible rides. Most guides can also get you ahead of the line for non-LL attractions such as PeopleMover, Carousel, etc (this is ultimately up to the ride CM controlling the queue though).

Unsolicited advice - maybe consider doing a tour earlier on during your trip and not the end. I personally like having an early day where you go all out taking advantage of the tour access and quick movement around property to other parks... then take your subsequent park days to do any repeats, fill in any blanks, and slow down/enjoy the park time.

Interesting. My thought in doing it last day is we could ride any rides we missed in other parks but I can see the wisdom of doing it first also

Another thought I have with doing it towards the beginning is the fun and excitement our family has the first time we ride an attraction each trip. It’s just special to realize we’re back and enjoying the attractions we love.

As the trip goes on it’s still enjoyable, just not the same as the first time each visit.

If you did do it on the last day, I would recommend timing your tour to ending just before the fireworks so that you can have access to the VIP reserved area for the fireworks. Fireworks in front of the castle on the last night of a trip can be so magical.

For anyone that has tried to look for people to fill a tour. Is it generally easy to find people that want to join? I'm trying to decide whether to start a tour or join a tour for my trip next year.

I can see it both ways. First day, you zip through all the lines. Next time, but moommmmmm I don't want to wait 45 mins for mine train. Buuutttttt on the other hand, I'd be concern waiting until the end, some illness sets in with family.

When we do a vip tour we always do it at the beginning of the trip. To us it just feels more relaxing the rest of the trip having accomplished so much early on. I don’t know what the exact rules are for the tour, especially now because the last time we did it was pre-Covid. However, we have never been told no for anything when with our tour guide. We are not booking vip for this trip in September. Just answering with my own opinion about whether it’s worth it or not because it’s subjective. I think it’s overpriced but it’s also an amazing experience. For us it comes down to whether we want to spend the money on it at the time. This trip we don’t but we have never regretted it when we have done it.

currently, there are no blocked off attractions with the VIP tour. You can ride all as many times as you want in all 4 parks.

I'm with you. Planning on doing it last. Mostly because it's the cheapest day LOL. But also because I will do all my favorites one last time.
