Hi, I am looking for advice on the VIP tour guides that Disney offers. Have anyone used this service? If so would you suggest it for all the Theme Parks? Any pros/cons would be much appreciated. I have not traveled to the parks in about 10 years so I am sure many things have changed. I am traveling with my husband, 4 1/2 year old, 9 month old and in-laws. We thought this would be best to help with planning and be less stressful.

Thank you-
Meg

For what it costs, I certainly wouldn't use it. But, truth be told, I could probably lead a tour.
I just can't figure out a way to justify the cost but others may have a different take on it.

I also could not justify the cost of $125 and hour for a minimum of 6 hours. With a little on line research and asking some questions of folks on the board you can create your own plan. I have seen plans posted and people commenting and making suggestions for changes and why. You can book your own ADRs and any tours you may like separately. Much cheaper. Use the extra money to upgrade in hotel, extra special experiences or the like. :)

1) Definitely less stressful.
2) If you can afford the $1,000 per day, go for it.
3) You do not get front-of-the-line, but they do plan a little for you.

I used them twice this summer. once at MK and once at DS

CON ..just the price.

PRO

they were two of the best days ive ever had.
Usually Im the one who plans everything ...this time i got to sit back and be led around and loved it.
We usually leave parks between 2 and 3.
At Mk we stayed until after 5 and and DS we stayed until after 7pm.
We werent tired or cranky, that include my young kids.
We did everything we wanted to accomplish and more....we NEVER had to walk fast to get anywhere...it was a slow relaxed pace where we took in all the little things too.
Parade seating at the MK was amazing.
It was one of the most relaxing days ive ever had in a park

so much so that i have all 4 parks planned for a guide this Christmas.

They get the fastpasses for you, somehow magically getting more than one ride at a time...:confused3 ;)
And they do say that front of the line access is not given but with fast passes it is not needed and the rides without fastpass? Someone we got some magic there too.

is a guide really needed? no, but if you can spare the money for insane cost...it is worth it.

OP, with your young kids i think you'd find it worth it.

ding... VIP Guide does not ensure that you will get "line magic"... but it sure helps. You also have to feed your guide.

When we were there Halloween week, I was semi-watching what a guide was doing with a family. Why? We kept winding up at all the exact same places around the same time. It was hard to miss and interesting to watch. I saw no benefit to the guide. As a matter of fact, we were usually ahead of them in line. The family was clueless though, so it probably was a much better trip for them with the guide than without.
