VIP--take your CC info OFF iTunes!!!!

i am not sure if I am paranoid but now I don't want my bank account linked to anywhere online even to recieve payments. my bank (chase) takes like 7 to 10 days to credit money back to my account if there is fraud. I had that happen to me at local gas staties by me. i can't really afford to have my checking or savings to be hacked for that length of time.

Go to the ITunes web page, and you need to look up your personal information. If you cannot remember your UserID and password, ask for it, and they should e-mail you the info. This way, you can look at your account an d see what is on there.

ITunes knew they had a problem 4 years ago. My account was hacked into 4 years ago, and luckily my cc called me right away and asked if I made an ITunes purchase. My cc company told me they have the worst secrure site.

I went in and logged in went to MY INFO but do not see any pick for credit card info..just my email, password, phone number, notification preferences. Is it listed somewhere else? Or maybe I don't have a credit card on file and thats why there is no pick? Anyone know? Thanks

Go to the iTunes store and then on the right hand side, click on account.

It will show whether you have a cc number on file or not. :)

I agree! The best thing I ever did was get rid of Norton and downloaded (free) AVG.

I was amazed at how much faster my computer ran once Norton was off!

And I took my CC info off iTunes once DS got an ipod. Now I'm glad I did. :scared1:

AVG is another good one! I have just used Avast for so long and love it though, so that's why I suggested it.

Norton is a bloated piece of junk that hogs system resources. There is NO reason anyone should be paying for anti virus software. No one I know would ever allow Norton to touch their systems and I know many programmers, system builders, and gamers. Heck, I build computers and am a gamer myself.

People are just lured in by the flashy Norton commercials and junk. They think you have to pay to get things. YOU DON'T! Some of the best programs for anything are peer created, open source, and/or free to download and use!

After some research, found Norton bogs down systems a bit..there are actually several good free anti-virus programs out there...now if I can just find my notes...oh, well, web research is part of my job, (I am an elementary librarian...was in 2 buildings this year...LOVED one...the other one NOT so much...so I will be in one building this year)
Per Consumer Reports - AVG 9, the free version. Apparently, there's a paid version of the same anti-virus program. But they do also rate Norton very highly

I noticed quite a few itunes charges on my credit card account last month.

After unnecessarily letting my daughter 'have it' for more than 250 dollars in itunes purchases, we finally figured out she hadn't made the purchases. (I don't understand why she couldn't articulate she hadn't made the purchases, so bizzare!)

I filed disputes through paypal who immediately refunded me. I called the credit card company and they cancelled the card and issued a new card.

Itunes customer service was no help. Never indicated this was a problem. I had to learn it here.

It's been a major pain to get all of the bills straightened out - I have auto pay set up with a lot on that card and I never realized how much I rely on my credit cards.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I couldn't for the life of me see where to log in on the intunes page, duh, go to the store. Yeah I have no credit card info saved in there. Geez I was a wreck all day reading this and not able to get in there. Thanks for putting me at ease.
