VIP Pass or Express Pass in January?

We will be at Universal the first week in January. Our first time, for one day only.
I had considered the vip passes but I am now wondering if that is needlessly spending money we could use elsewhere since the crowds should be low and with 29+ rides and only one day an express pass should work fine.
Advice please?

The one day 2 park Express pass should work fine for you.
