Does anyone have any experience with ride VIP lounges?

Each one may be maintained a little differently. I might get to use a VIP lounge at a major Epcot ride. I'd be interested in some backgound on what you've experienced if you've ever visited one.

Thanks in advance.

I visited the Horizons VIP lounge about 12 years ago. It was just a big area upstairs with sofas. They provided fee soft drinks and ice cream for the kids. There was a receptionist there who made PS arrangements for us for dinner. When we were ready we got escorted down the back way to get on the ride without waiting in line.

We've been fortunate enough to enjoy the lounges at Space Mtn (now closed as Fedex dropped sponsorship), Test Track, Universe of Energy, Spaceship Earth and the Land Pavilion.
Basically they all provided a cold beverage and nice private area to relax away from the crowds and cool off. Nice soft chairs, couches etc.. And a nice bonus is they escort you onto the ride when you are ready without a wait.
Any of the lounges you can get to I would jump on it.
It is really cool to see the areas around or above the rides that most guests will never see. The Test Track lounge is on top on the building and goes quite a ways around the structure. In fact last time we went we got some pictures and looks down into Mission Space long before anyone else had seen it. This is a perk that WDW offers to the guests of the corporations that are spending huge sums of money to advertise. Sadly though many of the corporations are feeling the economic pinch and not renewing their sponsorship. And I feel that those lounges may not be opened to guests ever again.
But it was (and hopefully will be again) a wonderful opportunity I would not miss!
Good luck

I was able to visit the AT&T lounge at Spaceship Earth this past December, as a guest of a DIS'er here. There was about 10 or so of us. It was as descibed above, and neat.

We visited it twice when we were at Epcot in July. We hadn't been in it since 1995, and it was a lot nicer this time. You can look through windows into the central part of the ride - where the cars go through turns, braking, and the hot and cold areas - from the refreshment section, which has tables to sit at and coffee and soda and water.

The front part of the building, which was the original lounge area, has huge windows from which we took lots of great pictures.

There is a special elevator which brings you down to the ride queue area, and we only waited 5 minutes each time. When you walk through the door into that area, it makes you feel like a celebrity, because everyone turns to stare - LOL!

It pays to have a good relationship with your ex-DH (who works at GM in Ft Wayne, IN)!!!
