Vinylmation help please

Sorry I'm pretty new to Vinylmation. If I buy one for my son at the Disney Store can he trade it at Disneyland if he wants to? Basically I'm worried since its on sale at the store he won't be able to trade it for one when we are there on vacation.

Yes, you'll be able to trade it at Disneyland. There are mystery boxes (where you can't see what you're getting) and clear boxes available at designated merchandise stores throughout the park & at D-Street outside the park. I couldn't find any trading at World of Disney although they are supposed to trade there too. Have fun, and hopefully he gets something he likes. My kids had alot of fun when we went a couple of weeks ago

Don't mean to hijack the thread but is is true they don't do a "Sam the bald eagle" vinylmation figure in the muppet series? How distinctly unpatriotic! Hes our favourite character-much better than that guy who blows things up all the time! We quote him all the time

Sam has to much gumption to be placed in a mere 3" vinylmation series...so they made him a 9" along with Gonzo, Animal and Tourist Kermit:

Vinylmations purchased at the Disney Stores can be traded in the Parks. I think the only ones that cannot be traded are the customized ones (I don't think those are sold at the Disney Stores). The only other limit is that he cannot trade with the clear box if the one he is "offering" is already in the box.

(There are two ways to trade Vinylmations in the theme parks - either with the clear box or the mystery box. For the mystery box, your son would pick and number and then trade for the one that is "behind that door". There is some inconsistency with whether or not he has to trade once he's seen what was behind the number he picked - so I would ask first. With the clear box, there is usually three (or more) Vinylmations that can be seen.)

As long as its not a create your own vinylmation (Now clearanced at Disney Outlets for $2.99) you will be able to trade.

In World of Disney there is a clear box for trading at the cashiers/check-out in the jewelry room. It's at the registers where the wall of Dooney & Bourkes are. At some times of the day there is also a mystery box there or near there but I don't know exactly where or what hours.

I have traded in World and Land many times. You just have to find the right place. Most of the merchandise stores have he clear box. THe mystery box is usually found in bigger stores. Some cast members are lenient on the mystery box rules than others. Some CMs will ask which one he is looking for and see if they have it. Others will say one and done. It all depends on who you get.
