My kids love trading the vinylmation at WDW and we are headed to CA this summer so I'm wondering if it's worth it to bring them? Are there enough places to trade them? thanks

I'm not sure about the pin trading, but I can tell you about the Vinylmation, as I too am addicted to the darn things. The best place to buy them is at D Street in Downtown Disney, as they have the best selection of them, but other stores have them as well, not only in DL, but CA as well. D Street also has a big box that has blind traders. The WOD is also a good place to buy them as well. There are places all over the parks that have places to trade them, some bigger than others. They are so small that they can pack easily into a suitcase, so if the kids want to take them I can't see it being a problem. I had fun trading them last time I was there, and your kids will have alot of fun at it. Have a great trip.

Ya, the best place for VM is D Street in DTD, there are always plenty of people trading out there.

Pin trading is popular, we do it every trip. there will be CM's with pins and there will also be individuals trading as well.

Both pin trading and vinylmation trading happens in DLR, but at a smaller scale than in WDW. I've done trading for both pins and vinylmations at both WDW and DLR.

Vinylmations: there are far fewer clear and mystery boxes. I was a few weeks ago and only a handful of stores in each park seemed to have the clear boxes. There were none at World of Disney. I only saw the mystery box at D-Street. The "best" in-park locations seemed to be Star Traders (they had a star speeder with eight or so choices), the pin store in Frontierland, and the gallery story on Main Street. I remember seeing clear boxes in the Adventureland store, and the pin shop in New Orleans Square. D-Street has the widest selection of Vinylmations to buy and a mystery box. I didn't really check out DCA, but there used to be a mystery box in the Tower of Terror gift shop. There were no Vinylmation trading boxes at the resorts (at least there weren't a few weeks ago), which was kind of disappointing. The non-CM traders seemed to be hanging out in-front of D-Street or the Frontierland pin shop.

Pin Trading: CMs with lanyards were pretty prevalent, but not as much as it used to be (at least there seemed to far fewer in the stores). There are pin boards in Frontierland and Tomorrowland's pin store (exit of Buzz). The non-CM traders hang out in front of the Frontierland pin shop or down at the DTD pin shop.

Both pin trading and vinylmation trading are done at DL. We are at the pin trading barrels in Frontierland at least twice a month for my DD to set up and trade with other guests. We also pin trade a lot with the CM's.
