Vinylmation Autograph Question

For our upcoming trip, my girls picked Vinylmation figures for autographs.

My ODD chose the 9" Mickey and my YDD wanted the Minnie, but it is only a 3".

Some questions... Will the 3" be too small for the characters to sign? How many autographs will the 9" hold? Do I have to prep the figure at all? Has anyone painted theirs before getting it signed (darn Etsy!)? Any tips for carrying them around the parks? Sorry for all of the questions!

We have the 9 in Mickey and have 29 signatures. I didn't prep it, but used different colored sharpies. We put it in a ziplock in the backpack with the markers for easy access. I started to spray it with hairspray to set when we got home and the colors started to run!!! I went over the couple of signatures to fix it and it looks good. We signed our names on the bottom of the feet like Andy did and showed the Toy Story characters. They loved it and signed there too! Even Buzz, he usually uses a stamp but asked for our marker. My girls were really excited about that!
