Vinyl records!

Does anyone play/have vinyl records? I love collecting vinyls, the scratchy sound is great. Especially the color vinyls. Here are a few of my color vinyls:

We have a Rod Stewart album that is a picture of him holding a blond on one side and a brunette on the other side. DH has a police album shaped like a badge!

I have some, but I never listen to them because I have no turntable. My fav is my mint condition Zeppelin II album. I hope one day I can sell it and retire! Hey, I can dream.

So your Rod Stewart is a picture vinyl? Like it's imprinted on the record? If so, that's really cool!

We have quite a bit of vinyls, my favorite is my Elvis one from Canada, it is a gold color that you can kind of see through. I have been collecting them so I can use them (the covers, and definitely not destroying) like a border in my bar area.

I have a ton of them, but no record player.

Out of all of them, the most special one to me is from when I was a little girl.
It's a Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs picture vinyl on both sides.

I still have four LPs from when I was a kid:

Kiss - Alive II (first 'adult' album - bought it for myself at the tender age of 9)
Styx - Paradise Theater
Steve Miller Band - Book of Dreams
Star Wars - Storybook picture disc

I've heard that the Star Wars picture disc is worth some money now. It's got Darth Vader on one side and C3PO/R2D2 on the other.

The rest of those titles - I've thought about buying all of them on CD, but I still have enough "inner Luddite" to fight that urge. Something about listening to Steve Miller's "Jet Airliner" with the pops & hisses. Also the non-radio-friendly original lyrics, if you know what I mean - although I've heard worse nowadays...

Good band name - Inner Luddite. I think I'll copyright that...

dh and I still have most of our albums from high school, we also have a jenson linar tracking turntable, we have a ozzy album with his picture on it. we still listen to them

I love going through my dad's old vinyls. He's got aerosmith, kiss, chicago, and of course pink floyd.

We've got a ton of KISS vinyls. No turntable though. We're major fans and have a huge collection of all things KISS.

My 19 year old daughter and her boyfriend have gotten into records. She even wanted a record player for Christmas. I bought her a Crosley "stack-o-matic". They raided our record stash.

I have about 400 or so, do not play though. Sure do miss all that album art work, intricate linear notes and all. Some pretty unique covers. First one was a Little Richard one, on Specialty, from about '56, last was probably the Stones, Black and Blue, in the 70's.
