Does anyone know if Disney is planning to do the Villain Soirée this year during MNSSHP? When would this usually be released for ticket purchase?

I don't know if they will be doing it. I don't think it was as popular as they wanted and there were a good amount of complaints about it. It was a separately priced event inside of an already separately priced event.

Just curious why it was so not worth it to you? We are going to Disney in October and I really hoped my kiddos would get to meet some villains. Will there be other opportunities for pics and autographs during the MNSSHP other than that soirée?

This event is a big chunk of extra money on top of the extra money you are paying to get into the Halloween event. Why pay double for something that gets you little more than paying one price. I didn't hear one person say it was worth the price.

I also heard that they herd you in and out in rapid succession to attempt to run multiple shifts.

So that doesn't sound good for "private interaction"

So $105 or so of you go to a park that day..$75 to get into the party...and then $100 for cupcakes and to be treated kinda roughly...

That's pushing it so far it's off the map to me...

But I hadn't heard that it might have fallen flat a little last year...

If that's the case...then "yay, customers!"

+1

It's one of the few hard tickets I've heard THAT many complaints about. The other was the Villains Unleashed event at DHS, which I attended...and even that was tame compared to what I'm told went on during this one.

I personally liked it. I wouldnt pay the 75 dollars again but i liked the reserved place to see the parade and fireworks and i really liked meeting all the villians in cinderella castle. Im not going to halloween this year but im sad they arent doing it

Thanks for all the input. Does anyone know if you can actually meet villains vs just seeing them in the parade during the party?

They have a few out in the park I believe. They may end up doing something different with the villains this year.

I don't know about that. Villains unleashed was probably the most complained about event I have ever heard about at wdw. I heard of lines out the guest relations doors.

I loved it, that being said, my DD and I were dressed as the sisters and the interaction alone was worth it. We had so much fun and yes WE would do it again and are hoping that they offer it this year

we went and werent hearded anywhere. we had ample time ti interact with characters and there were two seatings and both seatings sold out throughout the whole party season. I do think they should change the deserts because they were a bit adult. they werent cupcakes though. and i wish they had offered something other than the apple drink but as far as characters and the whole experience goes. I really enjoyed it. and when you do a cost analysis, you would realise that even at the price they charged, disney made maybe 2 dollars a person in profit. but i would be surprised if they did it again, however they might do a VIP package with special viewing for the parade and fireworks and new show. like they do for starwars weekends or frozen at the studios

it was a trial. disney trys alot of stuff out as special promos like villians unleashed or friday the 13th. when it doesnt work, they dont do it again. but they don't know the first time they try it what will happen. and from what i have heard it was a success as far as people going. I don't think it was a successful price point

We attended the second soirée (ever), and for us it was *absolutely* worth the money. It was one of our very favorite things we have ever done at Disney. From the amazing (and wide open...we literally spread out and my DH laid on the ground) parade and firework viewing, to the wonderful desserts, to the amazing character interaction (we didn't feel rushed at all), to the fun souvenirs they gave us, we absolutely LOVED it.

That said, we also did a separate MNSSHP later in the week because the soirée did take up a lot of party time...but again, totally worth it for us. i would book it again in a heartbeat!!

ETA - and if you go back and read threads from people who attended the event last year, most people gave it rave reviews. It seemed liked most of the negativity was coming from those who didn't attend. Make of that what you will, OP.

Well Pete the owner of the Dis did a review and said it wasn't worth it. I didn't do it of course but for that amount of money I'd rather do other things. It just didn't seem worth it to me especially if like you said it took up a lot of party time. You have the luxury of going to another party to make up for that. Not everyone can do thag of course.

I agree that it was a waste of money. We missed out on some of the MNSSHP party events because the soiree took up so much of our time. If I did it again, I would do the late soiree time slot. The best part was where you watched the parade and wishes from. Lots of space to move around. I felt like they should have given you a voucher to come back to the party another night so you could actually experience that since the soiree took up so much time.

New to posting here but I just had to say that the Villain Soiree was ridiculously awesome and totally worth the money. If they offered it again this year I would totally jump on it. My BF and I had the best time ever. It wasn't just a M/G in the castle..it was also a personal show. Every cast member there was super friendly and helped take pictures. The little trinkets we got were great. I personally would rather pay $100 extra to get a personal M/G with the villains then fight the crowd at the mix and mingle. I can understand why parents with kids would complain seeing as that's a LOT of extra money but for us it was great because we bought our own tickets. The only negative is that it DOES take up a lot of party time..but to be honest that's not a negative to me since it just meant I had to go to a 2nd party :) I've already bought 2 tickets to the party this year and I'm hoping there will be something awesome offered...esp with Oogie Boogie. Fingers crossed.
