Villians Sinister Soirée

They have added a second seating to many dates. now taking place at both 10:15 PM and 11:45 PM on September 1, 9, 12, 16, 23, 26, 28 and October 2, 3, 5, 9, 10, 13, 16, 17, 19, 21, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30 and 31, 2014; and at 10:15 PM only on September 14, 19, and 21, 2014. Now I don't know what to do. Which seating do you think is better? At first my date had the early seating only.

Ah ha!! I KNEW it!

Hmmm... now I wonder if I want to try to get the other seating...

Good grief... the decisions NEVER END with this trip!!

Ok that makes more sense now, seeing as my "ADR" time is 11:25 on 9/23. The CM didn't mention it was a second seating.

Now I'm wondering if the preferred viewing for the parade will still be the 1st one or the second

Ugh! I feel the same way! I need to decide before they sell out or something but I don't even know what the pros and cons would be between the various times. I've never been to MNSSHP before.

According to the website you only get reserved parade spot for the 8:15 parade regardless of which seating you go to.

That what I thought I'd read, but with all these last minute changes and additions, I figured it might have changed lol!

Well... Let's see... with the 11:45 you get out of the dessert event after the park closes, right? That could be cool.

BUT... I like the idea of keeping the 10:15, then getting out in time to take in more of the party (1 hr or so) at the time of night that will be LEAST crowded...

Oy. I don't know...

I was thinking the same.

But then, I was also thinking that if the parade viewing area is crowded with two seatings worth of people in it then maybe it would be best to skip the first parade and just see the second. In that case you would have to be doing the second seating for the dessert party because the second parade is happening at 10:30.

True. In past years we've had great luck watching the second parade from that spot in Liberty Square where the parade turns toward Frontierland. Never had to get there too terribly early, so that's a possibility. Might be cool for us this year to see it from a different vantage point, though...

Again... don't know... :-/

I wanted a later seating. I just called and changed mine. So, my earlier reservation on 9/23 is available if you call now and change it :)

*that the CMs are non-committal as to exactly 'where' the viewing area will be located. (I am not particularly interested in viewing parade from rose garden area)

*those who have paid $100 pp will be darn sure to line up very early to secure primo spots in the designated area. (if it's necessary to stand on line an hour before the 7:30 pm checkin time to snag a perimeter piece of turf in the reserved area, it almost stands to reason why not just spend the same amount of time sitting on the curb to stake out a spot as included in price of admission:scratchinunless Disney is going to rope off the entire hub area.)

*dessert offerings will be similar to those offered in current FW viewing party. (if I have to 'sell' the idea to my DH, need all the ammo I can muster after he figures out what it costs lol).

Initially, I dismissed this as a ridiculous money grab. After sleeping on it don't see much of a difference between it and booking tours or any other way you can drop a quick $100 or so @ WDW. Yes, it's a lot of $$$, but honestly, most things are at WDW. It's a question of picking & choosing from what is available within one's trip budget. This was going to be our 1st trip solely on CS and offsite dining mostly because I couldn't snag the ADRs we wanted but it makes the cost more palatable to me.;)

We have never braved the M&G in front of castle, just too much aggressive behavior and it ruins our vibe. We have certainly done our time over the years waiting for other characters. Always line up early to pick out good spots to watch the parades, only to have people repeatedly try to cut in front of us. Little kids always get a 'pass' from us, not their parents.:rolleyes2

If this would guarantee my DH a primo spot to get his camera geek on for both the parade & FW, the value would increase dramatically for me.

I booked just now for Sunday 10/5, the early ADR was sold out, went with the 11:25 pm checkin time, knowing cancellation is always an option if the early reports aren't favorable. We've been visiting this date for years, it's gotten increasing crowded to point where we were going to skip it this year.

FYI the CM I spoke to indicated that check in begins @ 4 pm @ will call, then offered again at the castle hub beginning @ 7:30 pm and that it would be SRO in that area.

We will be at that one as well! Just changed ours to the second seating... I am hoping that it will be not as rushed with the characters, since they won't be going to do other things...

My only concern is about getting pictures with the castle and what not after the fact (I am not sure how long they stay out there, but it didn't seem like it was very long after the part ended). We will just do that early and hope to catch it when the lines are low...

Does anyone know what nights the cast members get discounts for MNSSHP? From talking to someone last years, those seemed to be notoriously busy even though they are on the weekdays in September

guess it doesn't hurt to try & call, knowing cancellation is always an option if the early reports aren't favorable.

Someone mentioned previously in this thread that the viewing area is directly in front of the statue of Walt and Mickey in the hub. Someone on the Disney Food Blog mentioned that attendances for the Soiree were limited to 75 people. If this information pans out, then on the October night's in particular, that's a pretty sweet spot, without having to jockey for position and hold down a square of real estate for an hour and some change.

The later arrival will give us more time to enjoy the MNSSHP and as you stated... possible less rushed. Plus, we will miss the large bus crowds at the end of evening. Win, win, win!

Just FYI, looks like they've added second seatings to many Oct dates... and some info suggests more like 120-130 seats per. Not sure the latter is clear or will be until the first soirée.

thank you for posting this:thumbsup2had thought there was some debate whether the rose garden or the hub.

75 participants indeed would be wonderful, especially if then split between the two seatings. Certainly would allow for character interaction in CRT.

The biggest bother to this situation is that it's an additional cost ON TOP OF an additional cost!!! If that $100-- hell, even $150!!! Got me the party AND this event- I'd be all over it!!! But it's not. It's the party at over sixty dollars and the extra $100. And for my group of EIGHT??? Ouch.

After trying several times I finally got a spot for the second seating. I am sooooo excited!!!! Since the characters stop meeting at 10:30 or at 11:00 this will give me more time to see them. :thumbsup2

What do you mean after trying several times? Did they tell you it was sold out and you kept calling back? I have tickets for an early seating, but think I really want the second seating now that they have added it!

The last seating would be best as you don't have to deal with crowds and get the park at the very end which is always fun.

Congrats on keeping with it and getting the seating you wanted. Good reminder for everyone that keep calling and keep trying. People change plans all the time and times open up.

Enjoy!
