Villians Sinister Soirée

We checked in at the hub at around 7:45 and got in that line lol around 7:15 yes there was a line for that already... Gotta tell you watching the parade from there was awesome.. The characters come right up to you and the fireworks from there were just fine no complaints from me or my wife.. They give you free water well look for it as they didn't walk around with it. The had disney blunders throwing people who try to cross reserved robe line lol all in all well worth the extra $$$ IMHO
Thx so much for the info. Were you just checking in at 715 to get your badges, or was the line just to get IN at that point???

We got there on Friday night at 7:35ish and there was a line, but they had everyone who already had their pass go on ahead in. I loved the reserved spot! We were facing right into Liberty Square at the rope for the parade, then moved back and somehow got a bench to watch the fireworks. That was amazing and probably worth the price just for that!!! We loved the view, but then I always watch Wishes from the hub area anyway and love being so close. The parade was great (I was sad that our headless horseman got rained out), but WOW is Hallowishes AMAZING! That was our first time and I was blown away!!

We had gotten our badges outside Don't do that .... We waited by the little hut not will call in a line that took forever. You can get your badges at the hub. Do that watch see how many people line up judge so you get the spot you want. The desserts were so so BUT it was the best interaction one on one that we ever had with the Disney characters.. And add the parade and fireworks spot it was a win win ... Have fun we did.. Ohh the best was leaving the park at 1am with Main Street empty not a soul lol

Went to this last Tuesday and just got back. It was pouring rain and by the time we got to the party (had to wait for my parents to finish dinner since we didn't want to take the baby out in that mess), we missed the parade and skipped fireworks to ride Haunted Mansion. We only attended the dessert party and still felt we got our money's worth. The character interaction was terrific, particularly the stepsisters. I also loved the music the piano player was playing. Wish I could get a cd or download of that!

The Maleficient cups were larger than I expected. I'm kind of glad we left DD at "home" because we wouldn't have had room in our luggage for three cups.

This was the second time we've been to a halloween party and we still haven't seen the headless horseman due to horrible rain. I'm glad we went to the soirée this year because next year we will only purchase day-of party tickets if it isn't raining.

We did the Soriee Friday night. It was definetly worth the price. It started drizzling in the beginning and then let up. The viewing spot for the parade and fireworks and castle show was great. The Cms were really good with making sure only people with passes were in the viewing area. we got to the viewing area around 745 and all the rope off spots were already gone but we managed to still have a good spot behind a nice family with strollers so our view wasn't obstructed. I will note that one person who came late came up behibd us after the parade started and was trying to take pictures behind us and kept pushing us forward into the people in front of us not cool. after the parade they allow the sidewalk in front of the viewing area open for the villians, castle projection show (a must see) and fireworks. The problem is people some very tall are now in front of you for these events pushing up on the rope However since everything is upn it was easily solved by taking a few steps back. Our biggest concern was that you couldn't walk through Main Street at all which has to be some potential hazard. I personally think they should leave the sidewalk open for people passing through and not let people in front of the rope. I know some people mention the castle obstructing the view of the fireworks but we though it was cool to watch the fireworks there with the castle as the center. The wait times were not bad at all and when we went to splash mountain we could have stay on the ride if we wanted too. Unfortunately around 1120 the skies open up and we got caught in the downpour on the way to Cinderellas castle. We were all soaked costumes and all by the time we reached the castle. The party was great with a lot of interaction with the villians. The villians played their respected parts beautifully. Our waiter Jay was amazing he brought put a table cloth for my daughter because her costume was so wet for her to sit on more comfortably. he also brought her a cup of hot chocolate. Since I had the peanut/tree nut allergy the chef came to our table and removed the cheese platter then brought out a fresh one with bread and stuff I could eat. The chef also changed up my desserts to accommodate the allergy. we didn't feel rushed and leaving was really cool and no one stop anyone from taking pictures. we were staying at the wilderness lodge and the boats were still running at 1230 at night. My family and I really enjoyed the Soriee but felt it would have been more worth the money if it was a little cheaper but we were glad we did it.

Also Jay brought out another cup that didn't have candy in it as he was afraid of cross contamination so instead of four cups we got to take home five

I went to Sunday's 2nd seating (9/28)…as soon as I mentioned a gluten allergy to my server, the chef immediately came to my table to go over the menu. Because I couldn't do the bread on the bread/cheese plate, he brought out some warm gluten-free rolls. He then modified one of the desserts so that it was safe.

All-in-all, a great event. Loved the special seating for the parade/show/fireworks.

Loved the character interaction with the villains.

Loved the desserts - and the attention from the servers/chef for special diets/concerns.

Loved walking down Main Street at 1:00 am with no crowds… :)

So were you only able to have 1 dessert or only 1 had to be modified? Just wondering. Considering the possibilities of something like this during MVMCP.

If I don't get the badges outside the park, where is the other option to get them?
At the reserved viewing area, starting at 7:30, I believe? I also think you can get them at the castle if you didn't want to do any of the parade/fireworks viewing.

Only one had to be modified - the one for Maleficent has a cookie bottom, and so he was able to recreate the mousse without the cookie on the bottom. The other 3 desserts were safe. :)

It's a long shot, I know, but if anyone has to cancel the Soirée on Oct. or Oct. 31 for 2 ppl, please let me know!! Thank you :)

patrickpiteo - thanks again, we decided to keep our reservation for this Sunday.

our party tix are will-call:scratchinwas going to try to pick them up @ the resort concierge to avoid standing in one line on party evening.

Now wondering if it'd bepossible to just stop @ MK outside GS pre 4 pm and try to pick up both party & soiree bands @ the same time, then get in the entrance line.:scratchin As many times as I've been to MK I'm not recognizing 'the hut'.:confused3

We went this past Sunday and wanted to share my thoughts. We got in line about 7:30 at the hub ( check in was towards the right side if you are facing the castle.) The people in front and back of us did not have reservations. I think people see a line and get in it. We got held up because the people in front were arguing with the cast member because they did not have reservations. Check in was not very quick. Have the photo Id of the person who made the reservation ready. The will check your id and give you lanyards to wear and a card to bring to the soiree. If you have time I would check in at will call earlier. This way you can bypass the line and walk to the front with your lanyard and they will let you in. We went towards the left side facing the castle. We were able to sit in front of of the rope. This was a great spot to see the parade come towards you then pass in front of you. It did not feel crowded but it was about 4 people deep. We did not see the fireworks but did the late seating. We have a 6 and 8 year old. Our 8 year old was exhausted and slept during the whole soiree but my 6 was great. At check in you have to give the card they gave at check in and wear lanyards. In the lobby they had Captain Hook, queen of hearts, and frolo. I was very sad though that the step sisters did not appear in the lobby or the soiree. The soiree was great! All of the characters were great. If you have younger kids dr facilier was the best! I thought he might scare my son the most but he was the best with him! He bent down and they talked about catching frogs and how he didn't get tianna. He even came back later in the night and remembered his name and talked with him more. We did not feel crowded or rushed. They had autograph card to bring home with the cup. I would also take home the menu it was personalized with our family name. Every cast member was so wonderful and it was the best character meal we had!

I was told when I scheduled the soirée that the passes could not be picked up prior to 4 pm; they could only be picked up at will-call between 4 and 6:30, or after 7:30 at the hub.

Thanks for the great review! Sad to hear no stepsisters, though :(

True BUT it's not the big will call windows to the left of the turnstiles. It's the little hut thing upfront with only one cm helping soirée guests and it took forever in the heat an sun. Easier IMHO to check in at the hub after 7:30. Just have your drivers license or photo ID.
