I am planning a trip for DH and I to go to WDW in late August/early September one last time before our annual passes expire. We will be waiting at least a year or 2 to renew. We have been 3 times with the kids since January 2016 and my mother and I are taking the kids in May for DD's 5th birthday and my mom's first ever WDW vacation (DH has to stay home for work). This May trip was a spur of the moment decision based on a great bounceback offer from our last stay. I'm hoping for something similar or just use our AP discount. Would it be possible to get an even better deal renting points? Is that even possible at this point given it will be F&W time when we go? Are Villas more luxurious/larger than the regular rooms? We do not need the housekeeping it will only be a 3-4 night stay. We have never stayed at a villa because we need the 2 beds with our kids age 4 and 1. We probably will not do club level because I want to try all the signature restaurants that we don't go to when we have kids with us. Lastly, we have found Poly to be our favorite resort but probably will stay elsewhere. Would you recommend Epcot resort area due to proximity to F&W over GF? We have stayed at BC and GF and like both but would also consider Boardwalk because we will hopefully be spending more time at the venues there in the evening.

I think an Epcot resort inside 7 months may be a challenge even with flexible dates for point rental. Once 7 months hits availability drops fast. A villa at Grand Floridian is almost certainly long gone.

the MK and Epcot DVC resorts are the first to go. OKW, SSR and AKV are you best bets -- that say OKW has 2 queen beds in their studio (studios are much cheaper than 1-bedroom villas)

Both late Aug and Sept are not demand times at DVC in WDW.

don't count on Food & wine until the days are announced - it will definitely be in Oct and Nov - but last year was the first year they pushed it back to include most of Sept - before then it was only the last 2 weeks (if those) in Sept.

Food & Wine dates are already announced. It starts Labor Day Weekend.

With only 2 guests, I really like the studio villas. You will get a queen bed and a pull-out sofa which you won't have to pull out so you get a little sitting area (instead of a second queen). You also get a large coffee pot instead of the pod coffee makers :) I personally love BWV as I find that area of the resort to be very quiet. If you want a king bed, you would have to book a 1-bedroom which, IMHO, is a little over-the-top (and more expensive) if you aren't going to use the kitchen or washer/dryer, but if you can get a good deal, why not?!! We love BWV/BWI, it's our absolute favorite resort and great for a couples' trip, IMHO. Lots of fun nightlife and walking distance to EP and DHS!

There is no 4 night period you can book a BWV studio in any of September, FYI. It would have to be a cash stay at BWI.
