Villas view - which would you choose?

Currently I have a 2 Bedroom Villa - Island Gardens View - Booked off the Disney website. When I booked it was the only thing available for my dates. Now there is the 2 bedroom villa - poolside gardens view available - is the view that much better? I would like a higher floor with either view, is that something that I call to request from Disney travel to put on my reservation or with the hotel itself?

The poolside garden view is literally that. You will be on a low floor and looking at plants/trees surrounding the pool. There won't be an option for an upper floor.

Generally speaking:

• Standard: low floor on outside of building (not looking toward ocean/Waikolohe valley)
• Island: high floor on outside of building
• Pool: low floor on inside of building
• Ocean: high floor on inside of building

I would stick with Island View, as it's less points, and on higher floors, which I like. It's either Island View or Ocean View for me, skipping on Poolside view, but that's me. I know there are some that love Pool Side views.

Island view rooms often overlook the luau. You can eat on your balcony, enjoy the show, and save a ton of $$$.

I once had an oceanview room on the 12th floor overlooking the luau lawn. The room directly below me was categorized as an island view and had almost exactly same view. Imo, island view rooms are the best value if you can get a high floor.

My kids, however, love the pool view.

The only view I don't like at Aulani is Pool view. It's usually significantly more expensive than Island view, whether we're talking cash or DVC points. If you're going to upgrade beyond Island, IMO, you might as well go all the way to Ocean.

I'm weighing this decision too. What I'm wondering about is HOW "ocean" an ocean view is going to be. I'm looking at a 2-bedroom villa and trying to figure out which way to go. I have never been to Hawaii before, so on the surface I think that ocean view would be nice to have the full experience. But on the other hand, if it's like the ocean is a million miles away, or if can see only a little sliver of blue, maybe it's not worth it. Thoughts, anyone?

My favorite view is actually the one where the ocean is the furthest away. Aulani is shaped like a giant U or V, so if you're in the center you'll have a more direct angle to the ocean but further away, while if you're off on one of the arms, you'll be closer to the ocean but at an angle.



I would take a 2 bedroom villa ending in 50, 02, 08, 86, 80, or 74. I wouldn't be thrilled if I got 60, 87, 81, 03, or 09.

I would not get the pool view. It means you will be on a low floor, closer to the noise. I would much rather get a better view of the mountains.
