I was on another board recently and someone mentioned that Disney is now charging for parking? I find it hard to believe but I'd thought I'd throw it out there for clarification.

Members using points for a stay will not pay for parking. The charging for overnight parking has been on the books for months.

No villas booked on points pay for parking, including WDW.
VGC and Aulani resorts have always made cash guests pay for parking, but DVC points stays never had a parking charge.

Members would revolt on a parking charge when their dues include a line item for parking lot maintenance.

DVC owners staying on points (or people renting DVC points) do not pay for parking. However, I'm not sure if that applies to DVC owners paying cash, someone else can clarify!

This year’s dues budget includes parking revenue at SSR and OKW, so they anticipate some parking revenue from cash reservations.

So my MF's will go down next year?
No, Disney is still increasing wages up to $15/hr so dues will continue go up as wage increases are phased in.

The parking revenue seemed aggressive enough that I doubt actual parking revenue will exceed the budget’s projections by a notable amount. (OKW has a $608,000 parking revenue vs the total budget at $37,821,000..so even double the parking revenue wouldn’t make a noticeable difference in dues)

If member uses points or cash to reserve a WDW DVC resort, no parking fee. If a member uses points to reserve a Disney hotel, no parking fee. If a member uses cash to reserve a Disney hotel, pay for parking.

If a cash hotel reservation Is done thru MS is the parking fee waived? Or are CRO hotel reservations also fee-free? IOW, if I were to book an AP rate at CBR, I would pay for parking but if I did a cash reservation thru MS would I still pay for parking?

It does not matter how the cash reservation is made. If you make a cash reservation for a Disney hotel, parking fee applies.

Well, you couldn't book CBR through MS. You can only book DVC resorts through MS.

AFAIK, MS only makes cash reservations for DVC resorts. They do not make cash reservations for the non-DVC resorts.
