Villains Character Meal?

Seaspray, I loved the pictures from the Villains character meal! It looked like a lot of fun and I wish that they still had it. I suppose that it was too intense for small children.

I'm glad you liked the pics :)

You know, a lot of people think that small children probably got too scared and that's why they canceled it, but I don't think that's necessarily true. Even though the characters are the "bad guys" of the Disney films, they don't act in a scary way at all, especially when approaching a table with young kids. They all would come to your table just like any other character would. We did a LOT of character meals on that trip, so I had a good feeling for how the various characters behaved.

The only reason that the characters behaved the way they did with MY sons was because they were obviously older and obviously were enjoying the interaction. :) Even when Hook smooshed the cupcake on my son's face it was ONLY because we encouraged him, and ONLY because we knew that he (my son) would love it, which he did, as you can see by that one picture. LOL (We would not have let Hook smoosh a cupcake in our other son's face because he would've been mortified). lol

We saw so many little kids cry when Mickey Mouse, Pooh, Tigger, would approach them while at other character meals. I honestly don't think it had anything to do with the "villain" aspect of it. Of course, I could be wrong, but this is my observation. :)

DH and I did the Villain's meal in June 2000 for our honeymoon. It was lots of fun...we were sad to see it go.

I remember going to a villians meal in MGM. It was a breakfast with villians like Jafar ect... I don't even know if that restaurant is still there. It was over by where playhouse disney is now.

The Villain's Dinner used to be at 1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian. We did this character meal in May 2001. I wish they'd bring it back, it really was a lot of fun. Here are some of pics from it: http://home.comcast.net/~terry527/html/restsDAY3.htm

We tried to schedule it in June, 2001 and it was gone. We were so disappointed.

ETA: I love your pictures. It looked like loads of fun!
