Villager Premier - no car

Hi

We stayed here in 2001 we had free transfers with virgin but hired a car the next - my hubby wanted to enjoy a few drinks on the plane.

Has anybody else stayed here and not hired a car. We are going next year and are thinking of not hiring a car. Anybody used the hotel transfers and found them any good. Is it far to walk from the i ride trolley stop to universal.

i'm off there in a matter of days. will let you know if there are any problems. there is an i ride stop right outside which should make things easier.
what was the hotel like? i was a bit concerned as virgin had downgraded it from a 3 star to a 2 plus, and it isn't a flagship hotel in next years brochure. any news would set my mind at ease.

Hi we stayed here last year when it was the wynfield inn. The rooms were not upgraded when we were there. The rooms were clean and we had no problems with anything. The pool area is nice for a swim. The restaurant by the motel is great we ate there a lot of times. The hotel is within walking distance of sea world about 10 mins max. You cut through the car park of the Sheraton Hotel which is just across the road. It is a nice quite spot just off international drive. It has a garage next door a couple of shops and take aways. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. If you could find out the transfer times of the local shuttles for me I would be most grateful. Are you hiring a car or not?

we can't afford a car as the insurance is mega high for the under25's. i have no idea about the transfer times for the buses. i just intend to go there and see what happens. as long as i'm not in england at work then i don't care how long it takes. there is information and stuff on the i ride website, and the lynx buses website. iff you just type them into yahoo you should be able to find what you need. i ride just goes around the local area, but the lynx ones go all over orlando. their website is a bit complicated, but you can send off for an i ride map on their one. they do send to england.

if you were wanting to hire a car, I noticed that http://www.floridacarhire.com/ are advertising no surcharges for under 25's. I generally find there all inclusive rates are less than the insurance on the 'free' car .

We went there in April this year the place is nice and clean.

The bus transfers to Disney and Universal are okay in the morining but when they pick you up of a night they also drop off at several other hotels, so you may have to stand, we were usually the first drop off but after a day walking around the parks I found this to be a pain.

The walk from the I-Ride to Universal takes about 15 to 20 mins and its along a motorway which is abit scary. A cab cost about $20, we took a cab home once because we were to early for the Bus Transfer.

All in all I had a great holiday without a car and would stay at the Village Premier again, I hope this helps

Hi lynn

How often were the transfers to universal studios eg hourly or just a couple of times a day. How often did they return. Do you have to book them and how long on average did it take to get to the park. Still cant decide whether to try it this time without a car.

There were a couple a day for Universal, but more for Disney, but they did not take us to Animal Kingdom we had to get off at Disney MGM and Transfer to a Disney Bus.

It took about 10 mins to get to Universal and around 20 mins to get to Disney.

You do not have to book them you just turn up outside and get on, try to get there early because if there are a few people you want to try and get a seat, especially on the way home.
