We encounter a very friendly Viking. He kept saying "Hei!" and showing us handshakes.

Ran into them coming out of Akershus on Saturday. One Viking had another Viking tied up with the rope in front of the restaurant. They were hysterical!

Last week it was two rugged men dressed in Vikings gear, they walked around randomly and would pose for pictures if you asked. They spoke similar to how they may have communicated long ago. Pretty cool. My boys loved them since they are not exactly frozen fans!!

I wouldn't feel bad if I was you. You didn't do anything to offend. What you described is how they are. Now, that may offend someone, but that doesn't change that is the proper description for them at Disney. They do make odd noises vs. speaking, at least that's how they sound. They are also dirty and rough looking. They are fun though. Goofy and always doing things to crack folks up. I hated that we missed them yesterday, I think when it's rainy they don't come out. We've seen them on our past trips.
