Viggle App: Get rewards for watching television!

I've also been having problems viewing my account, check-in history, etc. It's been off and on all night. Hopefully it will be better in the am.

Yes, last night I had to manually check in to almost ever show I watched. It wouldn't recognize anything. And point lag last night was bad! I didn't see any points until after 7am this morning.

I have about 40k points and was waiting for the BB gift cards but i think I might start cashing out for iTunes cards for now. I wanted to wait until I had enough points for Target because we're going to WDW in May but 50K is a lot. idk

New daily points limit, instant wins and a sweepstakes coming soon!

Heads up that starting today, the daily points-earning limit will move to 6,000 points per day. Just for context, you’d have to watch 8 hoursof checked-in TV, check into 5 bonus shows and engage with more than 150 ads every day to hit this amount. Suffice to say, our research shows that 98% of our members are currently operating well below this total.

To help you get closer to the new daily total, and to add more fun into the mix, we’ll be adding instant win contests and sweepstakes next week.

We’re also making it easier to invite friends and have made it so the 200 points you receive per friend will now not count towards your daily total. More info on the new invite-a-friend process coming in the next day or so.

D'oh! I was just coming to post that but Lisa beat me to it. That quote is from Viggle's FB page. They haven't updated their FAQ's yet, but they better do it soon.

The upside is I'll have time to other things during the day, Viggle was very time consuming!

Well, that announcement pretty much does it for me. Its not even worth my time anymore. I can't complain, i've gotten quite a bit in the small amount of time i've been Viggling. I am sitting on 100,000 points on my account and I think my husband has around 40,000. We'll probably cash out and delete the ap.

Congrats on saving up all those points! What will you cash out for?

ok, I don't like how hard you have to work at it, as compared to before where it was super easy, but come on, how long could it go on that way?? I think we will continue to viggle at our own tolerance level, when it is convenient and cash out when it happens. I don't think we usually earned more than 5000 points a day anyhow, as we just weren't that committed.

Grrr. I found two 30 pt ads and have yet to be credited. One was fit capital one and the other was a mj Gatorade ad. I'm hoping it's just a lag because my earlier ads did credit.

Regarding the new limits, that sucks but it's not that serious that I'd delete the app. I've only been doing it not even a week but I do it at my leisure and still think its a great way to earn rewards. Are there similar apps out there? If would be nice to work on more.

Was hoping for Best Buy cards but since they haven't brought them back yet i'll probably get some Target cards. My sons birthday is Sunday and he's asking for some Xbox accessories. Hopefully BB will return before I cash out, at least if I buy the stuff at BB i'll also earn rewards points :goodvibes

I think my issue is because i've been doing if for a while now and it's TOTALLY different now than it was just 3 weeks ago. Since then they have dramatically reduced the number of ads, reduced the number of points for checking in, reduced the bonus points, raised the redemption value of some rewards, had lots of technical issues including not being able to check into bonus point shows and for myself, no bonus points the last 2 nights (I did contact them and they said the first night was a technical issue on their end and no one would get their points, last nights points they say I just need to log out and back in, still didn't get them). They are truly lacking in customer service.

Oh I can definitely understand where you are coming from. My post was not targeting you specifically. On SD, others have also posted that they will be deleting bc they don't feel it's worth it anymore. I have read much of this thread and can kick myself for not joining viggle sooner when the points and ads were more abundant. Seems like they are making too many drastic changes all at once. I hope it works out for them but I'm planning to cash out as I go.

And what's funny....here I sit mashing Gatorade ads :::sigh::: lol

I'm still going to use the app and try to hit the max points every day. It would still be a $25 Target gift card every 9 days or so. I was a little bummed at first since I just joined last week and have learned how to almost hit the 12,000 points a day. At that pace, I could get a $25 GC every 5 days. I'll still take the free GC every 9 days. That's still better than I do on any other site.

I signed up for the Viggle app last Wednesday after seeing on this board. I wasn't getting as many points as some people but was able to rack up about 25000 points in the first 4-5 days. The past 2-3 days have been SLOW. Ads aren't popping up as much and some ad values are down. I think I was able to get about 1500 points all of yesterday.

I wonder if there are really less ads, or if there are just way more people using the app, so the rotation is being spread thin? I do seem to notice more ads when it's not prime-time.

Also wanted to add - I used 2 Chili's gift cards together at Maggianos. What a deal! We got the $40 for 2 meal - which included 2 salads, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, and 2 extra entrees to bring home. And since the main entree was so big (spaghetti & meatballs) - I ended up bringing half of that home too. Subtract the $30 in gift cards - we paid $17 for only 3 meals!

That's what I've figured out too, since I'm also saving for Target GCs.

Does everyone remember when Viggle slashed the regular check-in points in half? That same night was when they increased the Featured Bonus points. For awhile the bonus points totaled around 4,000 points per night. And now recently they dropped the Featured bonus points back to the normal level, around 2,200 points per night. I think they only increased it for awhile to take the sting out of the slash of regular check-in points.

Viggle has always said it is not their intention for people to max out. The daily limit is an anti-fraud measure. That being said, I think Viggle will continue to slash points; either less ads, or changing the featured bonus policy. I still doubt that Viggle wants everyone to max out at 6,000 points every day.

So here are my thoughts about Viggle and the changes and what I'm planning to do. I averaged about 5,000 - 5,500 points a day if I really worked at it, but I'm not able to Viggle much during the day - just be checked into longer running tv shows and maybe if I grab some wifi at lunch, I can look for ads. So the max points per day doesn't affect me.

The lower point values for some of the ads doesn't really bother me either because any is better than none and I usually do it when I'm doing something else anyway, so I just accumulate what's available. FWIW, I *do* watch the no-point ads - like the Ad Council ones and it seems that when that is all that I have available to watch, after I watch one or two, it's like it opens a flood gate of the for-points ads. I search Soccer, NBA, etc only when no ads are appearing through feature shows.

As for folks deciding it's not worth their time to do it and leaving, well, that leaves the ads served to them available for the rest of us to have a chance at. And for each person who leaves, there will be another person joining who is new and doesn't have a high-point reference against which to feel cheated.

As for cashing in, I am still hoping for a Best Buy g.c. to come back at 37,500 for $25 - which is a better value than the $25 Target or Amazon for 50,000 points. Because I am saving up for an iPad 3, and based on the response that someone posted regarding my question about using multiples at CVS, then before I make my next trip to CVS, I will cash out for however many $5 CVS as I will need to cover my shopping trip and put the cash I would've otherwise used into my Ipad 3 envelope where I keep my Best Buy gift cards! If Best Buy comes back and is still at the same value, then I will cash in for Best Buy.

Thanks for posting the changes from Viggle's facebook. I need to Like them so I can get them in my news feed. I do follow @vigglesupport on Twitter but don't have a constant Twitter stream during the day either - so getting my Viggle news from the DIS is awesome!

While I am bummed by the changes, I'm not surprised. Honestly, I was expecting them a month and a half ago. So, I redeemed everything out and while I will continue to Viggle, I'm keeping my balances LOW and am going to cash out at every 7500 (or whatever the $5 gift cards become). I've made $500 with this app in two months, so it's nothing to sneeze at. I'm just sad to see the old Viggle go, but how could it continue at the previous rate?

I will say that I don't like how they never tell us a change is coming, only after it takes place. Therefore, I'm not that trustworthy of them and wouldn't be surprised if everything goes up in points... 3000 points for a RedBox rental, anyone?

I just cashed out for a Target gift card. Now I'm down to like 30 points. I will still viggle since it takes nothing really to do.
