Views of Savannah at AKL when raining?

We ahve a pool view room. Last trip we had a standard view room. We'll be there for 8 days so I wondering if there is a covered area where we can watch the animals without getting wet if it is raining since we won't ahve that view from our room. I'm looking at the AKL map they gave me at check in last trip. I see a sunset overlook by the lobby. I don't think we checked that out. Is that covered? I recall the porches off the zebra trail were open so this wouldn't work if it was raining. Thanks for any tips!

I believe the sunset overlook on the lobby level is covered. The porchs that are on either side of the large lobby window overlooking Arusha rock are also covered. Then there are the big picture windows throughout the resort on all levels that have views into the savannahs....some of which have seat benchs at them if I recall correctly. You can also stand out on the stairwells at the end of the hallway (trails) and see onto the savannahs (these are covered as well). So there are plenty of places to see animals without being in the open. -HM

We were there two weeks ago. It rained a lot. The Arusha Outlook is not covered, just bring an umbrella or poncho. The Sunset Outloot, is enclosed, but you can go outside. If it is warm outside and cool inside the windows get all fogged up. Over by the pool/hot tub, you can view the animals there, too.
