My mom and I are thinking of checking out the DVC's in the fall (without kids) to see if it is something for our family and wanted to stay at either BCV or BWV in a 1BR. What kind of views are available for these rooms? We usually stay at the GF and know nothing about the Epcot hotels. Also, will I have a hard time getting a reservation in the Fall?

BCV only really has pool view and garden/woods view.

BWV has three views, but cash guests through CRO only get one view - the pool/water/garden view. Other two views available to members include the standard view (parking lot, main drive and fewer points) or BW view.

Both of these places usually get booked up solid by members during the Food & Wine Festival.

If you want to stay at either of the these resorts in the Fall ---call now.

It could prove tough to get rooms depending on your specific dates----especially for the smaller of the two resorts ---BCV. I was able to get a room at BWV in Oct 2006 (the first week) at 60 days out, but BCV was booked solid.

I'm not sure what you are talking about.

You probably will not be able to rent points from a member anytime this fall. You may get lucky with September, but at this point even that would be difficult.

However, CRO often has cash rooms (for a lot more money) available when they aren't available to members, you can try that. As said, BWV does not sell standard views or Boardwalk Views through CRO.

In general, DVC resorts do not have "views" like Disney's hotels do. Most of the time, its luck of the draw if you get a golf course (OKW and SSR) or DTD (SSR) or a Parking Lot or Road, or even a Dumpster. There are a few exceptions. Boardwalk has the three view categories. AKL has several room types, not all of them are view based, but several of them are. At OKW you can get a location based (not view based) confirmation if you book early enough. Note that certain room types have very high demand and pretty much mean that you need to own at the resort to have them available to you. i.e. its possible to get a Boardwalk View if you aren't an owner booking almost a year in advance, but it gets less likely as you move closer to your trip to book that room.
