Hi all! I have just purchased DVC this past month & am booking our first vacation. We are considering AKV & VWL as options to show our first time Disney friends!! (Splitting our vsit w/ our home resort SSR) I have read the info on the member boards, but could not find this--what are the views usually like at VWL? Since there is not "preferred view, or water view" at VWL, do you just get luck of the draw? Could you possibly get a view of the parking lot? I have never been to the Villas (stayed at WL one night last year) so not sure what the Villas options are. TIA! Debbie

THere are no parking lot views. We were there in Feb and had a woods view with Bay lake behind the trees. I think that there may be some pool view also

This photo should help:

VWL is the red-roofed building. As you can see, the primary view is....trees!

This picture was taken prior to the hurricanes a couple of years ago so the trees have thinned out somewhat. Still, you can tell that primarily you will be looking at woods no matter where you end up.

Yup. It's mostly either woods with the bus stops in the distance or woods with Bay Lake in the distance. A few rooms overlook the quiet pool. But it's really a moot point; the view from your window is not the reason to go to VWL.

Unless you are in Room 3562 and overlook the laundry and trash and get a daily wake up of trash trucks at 4:30 am EVERY DAY.

If you see your room end with **62 RUN.... It was actually worse than the room adjacent to Jelly Rolls and the drunks.

We were in room 5524 & had a view of the parking lot and bus stop through some trees. It wasn't bad though & since the railing was so high, we did not mind ;)

We had a wood view with a bit of the lake when we were there in May. 3rd floor, odd numbered room.

We had this view, which faces east (toward the resort entrance road):

We will be staying at VWL for the 1st time this November in a 2BR Lock-off and I absolutely cannot wait! :goodvibes The only room request I felt compelled to make was for an upper floor; I know fom reading here that most every room except those ending in 62 (dumpster) will have a wonderful view.

(I'm really more into location than "view", per se.) It would not be the view of the dumpster that would bother me, rather, the noise from the laundry and trash trucks every morning at dawn!

If we are given a dumpster view, I plan to politely request another assignment, even if we need to wait. We will arrive around lunchtime; so I'm keeping my fingers crossed and we'll all rub Humphrey's nose for good luck before we register!
