Viewing Wishes from Polynesian

Visited MK last October and couldn't believe the horrendous time we had getting back to our car after watching Wishes (although it was a great view from Fantasyland)!

I think I might have read on an earlier post about viewing the fireworks from the Polynesian. Just wondering if anyone does this, can anyone visit the resort or do you have to be staying there, do we get a boat or monorail to the resort, how long does it take to get over there?

Also, is the atmosphere quite the same as watching it from the park?

Hope someone can help me.

Thanks

Dh and I enjoy watching Wishes from the beach at the Poly. Have you considered perhaps Ohana for dinner? You would be right there and then could walk out to the beach and lay on a beach chair to watch the fireworks. Depending on where you are staying I would say the easiest way would be to take the monorail from the MK to the Poly. You do not have to be a guest to visit any of the resorts.

Watching Wishes from the Poly is great, but, IMO, a completely different experience than watching inside the park. We saw Wishes both in the park and on the Poly beach in Dec. and from the beach you really get a broader view of the fireworks - it's gorgeous! The atmosphere is completely different, it's watching fireworks on a beach - very relaxed, no big crowds! As the previous poster mentioned, you could eat at Ohana - if you get a window table you can even watch the fireworks there, they play the music in the restaurant. When I was there and we watched from the beach they did not play the music.

I would say, if you have already seen Wishes inside the park, you may want to see them from Poly. And you don't have to be a resort guest to watch the fireworks there.

It is totally different, but in a good way. The only thing I miss is the music. Some say they pipe the music in on the beach, but we've watched them several times from there and have never heard the music.
O'hana's is also another good option. They do lower the lights and pipe in the music. Just be warned if you go there, the windows are apparently fair game as most the time kids run up and have no problems standing right in your view. Sadly, most parents don't care that their children do this.

To me, Wishes from outside the park is a fireworks show; Wishes from inside the park is an experience.

It's nice to view from outside the park because you don't have to be a part of the exit rush, but to me it's just not the same as being in the park.

We watched the fireworks from the Poly beach a few years ago. It's not the same at all, you can see them, but they are far away. They didn't pipe in any music, that night anyway.

What we did was eat dinner at Ohana first, then strolled out to the beach for the fireworks. It was fun, but we knew we'd be watching the fireworks from inside the park another night. :)

I agree with all the posters. We usually watch them once from
inside the Park and a couple of times from the beach. The added bonus when we went in 2003 is that they play the
music on the beach now. Try both.

I 100% agree. It is really nice fireworks outside the park. Inside, it is a magical experience. You can't even compare the two.
