Any suggestions for good viewing spots for the new MK fireworks show Disney Wishes?

We are going in March, and would like suggestions, as we have not seen this show yet.

THANKS!!

Last I knew, Disney Dreams is a stage show on the Disney Cruise Line. I think Wishes is the newest fireworks show, and my family and I ususally stand in Tomorrowland.. from what I've heard (not sure if this is true) they've cut down all the trees around the castle, so anywhere you stand should give you a good view.

Oops. Meant to say WISHES, not Dreams. Thanks.

Anyone other suggestions?

We were there last week and we watched the show twice. The day we arrived, we didn’t want to use up a day on our park hopper so we went to the CG at the top of the CR just before 6 (Wishes started at 7 that night). We lucked out and were able to grab window seats in the lounge facing the MK. We had a couple of drinks and a couple of baked flatbreads and before we knew it the show had started. The music and narration was pumped in as well. It made for a unique vantage point.

The next night we went in to watch the Spectromagic parade. We grabbed a spot in front of LTT and as the last float rounded the corner we went in to eat. In the middle of our meal we heard the narration to Wishes start and we headed outside to watch (as did several others from the restaurant). I do have to say, it was nice to see the show from inside the park. And best of all, after the show we went back into LTT, had dessert and a coffee, and walked out of a practically empty park.

We stood at the hub right in front of the castle and thought the view was great. However, I have read here and there of people saying you don't get the full effect if you are too close to the castle so I'm curious to see other answers to your question.

We were considering watching Wishes from the front of the park looking up the middle of Main Street but when we asked a couple of CM's if it was a good spot they didn't seem to know (too busy working to watch the show I guess).

We actually found 2 locations we like. One, was the as the above poster stated. Just to the right of the HUB, on the Tomorrowland Bridge. Tink goes right overhead.

The other place we really liked, was just inside the main entrance to MK, go through the locker rental place and stand right there at the top of Main Street. You have a straight on view of the castle, and all the effects are spectacular. Plus, it made getting out of MK a snap, we were in front of most of the crowds, and always made the first resort launch back to FT Wilderness.

kalamazoo--I think our second location is right where you are talking about, and I really think it was TOPS.

I agree with Debster. To the right of the circle at the top of Main street. You can cross over from Tomorrowland and find space to watch it at the last minute. Many say it's too close. My kids love the spot because you get the full effect of the Castle and Tink during wishes in this location .

We stood right on main street where it circles in front of th castle. It was perfect! The fireworks shoot off to the left and right of the castle framing it and an entire light show goes on, on the castle from ground to tip. If you are further away you might miss some of the amazing light work that's going on. It makes the show that much more impressive.

Now I don't know what to do, but what else is new:crazy:? I will be in the MK on my Birthday, I have 5:05 PS for CRT and I thought I would head back to the Poly after dinner (staying here) to watch Wishes(7:15) on the beach. Do they have the music on the Beach? Should I just hang out at MK and watch it there? Thanks

Did not read replies here, Deb, but I watched several times from Rose Garden area to the right of the Castle (looking from Main Street) and found it great. You do miss a bit of the Castle/fireworks 'perspective', but sure are able to see the fireworks and all the Castle, just not the true 'composite', only seen, I would say, from more front on. Enjoy.

Hi Minnie Mare, they did have music piped onto the beach at the Poly when we were there in November, but you won't be able to see the lights & projections on the castle itself. It is a very relaxing way to watch Wishes, though. We liked our spot near the hub (by Mickey & Walt) for the best view and our spot near the beginning of Main Street for the best combination of view and getting out of Dodge before the mass exodus. We waited almost 40 minutes for a launch back to the Poly in late January when we watched from nearer the castle, and this was NOT a crowded time. The monorail was jam packed, too. The view was totally worth it to us, but if you hate crowds, take this into consideration.

Stand in the middle of the street in front of the corner store that sells hotdogs. (As long as you can stand the smell of sauerkraut!) ;) :jester:

Here is where NOT to stand! They tell you that these two are good spots...but don't fall for it. The bridge in Frontierland in across from the Jamboree, and in Fantasyland. Here's why:

You should know that fireworks come from three main places during Wishes. 1) Back behind Fantasyland, farther back behind that, and the tops of the buildings in Fantasyland. So, the whole show is truly designed to be seen from the front, or SLIGHTLY from the side. You will miss several big effects if you stand behind the castle or too far on either side of the show.

For the best view, try to be dead-on or as near as you can be to seeing both sides of the castle. If you are too close to the castle, you will also miss some effect.

Have a blast! It is an AMAZING show!

Is there a great spot for filming and photographing the show?

Ill be there in May and plan on filming it once and photgraphing it once and am not afraid of a wait if needed (DL Fantasmic taught me the value of waiting...)

The first time I saw Wishes, a CM told me that the view in Fantasyland was "great". This was not the case. Not only did the fireworks not frame the castle, but the wind blew ash from the fireworks on me and I ended up with ash in my eyes and all over my clothes.

The second time that I saw Wishes I watched it from the Tomorrowland bridge. Excellent view and Tinkerbell flew right over us.

We also liked the view from Tomorrowland. It was so neat to have a close up view Tink flying.

Have a great time!
Linda

For filming and photographing directly facing the front of the castle, not up by the castle but back...not as far as main street, but not as close and the circle. The tomorrowland bridge is good, that way you get a good show and also Tink...but truly I would aim for the middle of main street with a good view of the Tink wire. Don't go too far back down Main street. You want to avoid the lights from Main street. Also, don't use your flash, you will get the back of people's heads and the show is great without a flash just hold your camera steady.
