View request at AKV?

Yesterday, I booked an 11 night stay at AKV next July in a value 1 br. I know that with a value,, we could get parking lot, pool, or savanna view. Can I request a savanna view? I know that it would not be guaranteed, but will MS accept a request?

I don't see any reason why they would not accept a request for a savanna view. I expect 99.99% of the Value reservations will include exactly that same request, so all the more reason to be sure yours does, too! And as you said, it is just a request. They will not guarantee a savanna view. Good luck!

speaking of akv views: can someone clarify for me-
The only one I know for sure is guar. Savanna view- that one is self explainatory-
now is this how it works:

value: smaller rooms with the possibility of any type view, (no guarantees)
standard: bigger room, pool or parking lot view
savanna: bigger room, guar. savanna view
concierge: bigger room, access to lounge and sunrise safari, and possibilty of any view (no guarantees)

Is this right?

You've got it for the most part. Here are a few comments...

True for Kidani, but in Jambo House the only rooms facing the parking lot are Value villas, so Standard View in Jambo House means pool view!

concierge: bigger room, access to lounge and sunrise safari, and possibility of any view (no guarantees)

Fortunately, there are no parking lot views from the Concierge rooms, so the view will be savanna or pool. The Value rooms are the ones that can have any view (savanna, pool or parking lot).

Thanks for the info. I called MS yesterday and requested Savanna view for our 1 br value for next July. I know that it is not guaranteed, but I figured that at 11 months we have a good chance.

I believe that if you look at your reservation, you will see that your reservation is in Jambo House.

I don't think that the other building will be opening until '09.

When we stayed there before the DVC opened, we had a Savannah view and we had a different Savannah than the main savannah. But it didn't make any difference to us as the animals were awesome!

I think there are 3 savannahs and they each have a few exclusive animals.

It is awesome. We are going for our first trip home is 18 days! I am so excited!!!!!!

All DVC 1,2 and 3 bedroom villas have washers and dryers in the unit.

The photos available from the links in my signature were taken in the model rooms in the theater building at SSR. They are models of the villas that will be built in Kidani Village. The villas in the Lodge building ("Jambo House") are smaller and laid out differently and do not have the extra bathroom, have a combined tub and shower rather than a separate shower stall in the master bath and the kitchen is L-shaped with an island (very nice, actually!). But the furnishings appear to be identical based on photos people have posted from their stays in Jambo House.

So...at Jambo House all standard views are pool view? Wow! I love the pool at AKL. What a beautiful "standard" view!

According to the florplan posted by our very AKV knowledgeable LisaS, very few AKV rooms at all will be facing the parking lot in Jambo. Even most of the values are either pool or savanna view. Pretty cool!
